2 Peter 2c For Those Who Lead Astray

2 Peter 2:12-17

Description
2 Peter 2:12-17 Welcome to another hard message from 2nd Peter. Today we will be talking about pseudo-salvation. And those who lead others into false beliefs and teachings about spiritual matters of which they know very little. I hope you listen closely to Martin Luther's quote from a sermon in 1531 concerning standing against false doctrine and those who would lead you away from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and total trust in the Word of God. As we go through today's verses there are huge lessons to learn and to realize that hell is the blackness of darkness forever. I quickly go over 7 different kinds of false sinful people and teachers that you will know what to watch out for. 56min

Luke 7:1-17

Description
In Luke 7:1-17 we see the amazing faith of a "gentile" who serves as a model for the Jews. We see that the grace of God is for everyone and that a heart knowledge of who Jesus is surpasses ethnic barriers. We also see instead of man reaching out to God that Jesus reaches out to us in the middle of our pain & loss. 29min
Matthew 12b Healing & Casting Out
Pastor Nelson
Matthew 12:15-30
Loading the player...
Description
Matthew 12:15-30 In our teaching this week, there is going to be quite a bit of emphasis on the workings of the Holy Spirit. As Jesus healed the sick and cast out demons the religious leaders of the day refused to recognize the power of God. They even accused Jesus of working on the power of Satan. As our days grow darker under the influence of evil we must all (as Christ followers) learn more about how the Holy Spirit works and to hear that still small voice of God's love and compassion toward mankind. Included are eight scriptures from Matthew on what the Holy Spirit is and does. There is no neutral ground, either we are on God's side in this spiritual war or we are part of the devils company who will be judged and condemned forever. 57min
Mark 9b Belief and Doubt

Mark 9:14-29

Description
Mark 9:14-29 Can a believer have doubts - absolutely! Does God ever get frustrated with us? Is there anything we can do to help our faith? Why is it important to ask God for help? Unbelief has no power. Our power failure is directly linked with our prayer failure. Lots of different Bible verses today! Some big lessons in Jesus healing the deaf-mute boy and casting out the evil spirit. We fail for exactly the same reasons the disciples failed in this simple task. We need to recognize the power of God is not limited by our circumstances. We need to pray like the boys father, "Lord I believe; help my unbelief!" 47min
Matthew 5g Vows, Relaliation, & Love
Pastor Nelson
Matthew 5:33-48

Description
Matthew 5:33-48 In todays lesson we are going to learn from Jesus what is really behind the words of the Old Testiment. Seeing as God judges all by our words and thoughts, Jesus is going to address some more of our attutides (just like last week). Some of us need to reflect on what is in these verses, others not so much. But we all have room to grow. I'm sure that the people in Jesus day were shocked at what He had to say. Seeing as we, as followers of Jesus, represent God, we are held to a different standard than the world. Our intrgrity, and attitudes, and love must prove us different from the world. This can only be done through the power of the Holy Spirit that is given to every believer at the time of salvation. 57min

Romans 9:25 - 10:13 Romans chapter 10 verses 9 through 13 some of my very favorite New Testament verses. Today we will be finishing up Romans chapter 9 & looking at some other key Scriptures that every Christian should know, or at the least written down.. A lot of people call this "The Romans Road". If you mark your Bible with what verses come next you can always start in John chapter 3 and explain for someone the need to be saved & lead them through the process. Today's message is a little bit longer because I included some extra things for our folks that were live online. Please have your pen and pencil handy & I pray that each one of you will be able to share these verses with someone one day and see what the Holy Spirit can do through the power of the Word explained to a non-Christian.. 60min

John 1:39-51

Description
John 1:39-51 As we read how Jesus gets his first 5 disciples, there are some interesting lessons to be learned. However, we are going to start today's lesson with week 25 and 26 Bible verses. Jude 24 & 25, and 1John 4:9-10. In looking at our 52 Bible verses for the year, sometimes these fall in line with our Scripture studies in the Gospel of John and sometimes they don't. But I do believe they have value in our growth. Anyway, there are some subtle lessons from John's Gospel that we need to pick up today. The big question for the day is: who do you think Jesus is? How closely are you following him? Is your relationship with Him a first priority in life? In this day and age it is hard to imagine these 5 men dropped everything to follow Jesus immediately. Jesus is still saying "come, follow me - you will see greater things than these". Are you willing? 39min PS I have a fantastic, thought-provoking, 7 page article on how amazing & transforming God's GRACE is. It was written by David Bryant a pastor and Christ proclaimer for over the 40 years now. I have read it at least 8 times & each time it has a greater impact on me. AND next week we will take a deeper look into what Jesus had to say about worry, fear, & selfishness. Remember, you're safe only if your spiritual growth is faster than your money growth! As we start to look at the rich fool there are lots of lessons to learn, but we will have to do this in 2 parts. Question is "Have you learned to really trust God in ALL things?" and "What are your priorities in life?" 21min

Description
What is in the name? Way more than you might have expected. A LOT MORE!!! Today were going to be going over 10 of the more popular names for God and what they mean. By doing this we can start to understand the nature and character of God. I also have a clip off of YouTube that I will be playing for you. Chuck Missler did a presentation (14 years ago?) on what the names from Adam to Noah actually say when explained. I think you'll be very surprised! You can find the 21 minute presentation on YouTube.com if you do a search for Chuck Missler, hidden codes, Adam to Noah. Also the handout I have today on the 10 names of God is available with a lot of the same comments that I made during my sermon. I hope the Mesler recording is understandable (sorry for the interruptions and poor audio), but his visual graphics on YouTube are well worth taking the time to watch it for yourself. 55min

1 John 3:1-9 As we pick up where we left off last week concerning how are we to live a righteous life; we are beginning to see why it is so important to live properly within God's will. Have you ever really considered what it means that you have been "declared a child of God". It is not only amazing who your real father is, but the heritage that you will one day exist in! As the verse says "what we shall be"! But while keeping that image in mind, what do we do with this sinful world we live in, and with our own sinful lives? Prayerfully today you will grasp some concepts that will make it just a bit easier for you to live a pure life and be a walking testimony of God's love (the Good News) for others who are desperate for joy and peace. 45min

Matthew 22:34-40 Today's lesson is one of those that I love because it so wonderfully joins the Old Testament with the New in what Jesus had to say. So many times we quickly read over something and don't grasp the deeper meaning behind the words. Jesus so wonderfully taught the Pharisee lawyer about what he should have been learning but missed. It's not about the 613 rules but about God's love for mankind and how we should be loving God at each other. Grab your pen and paper there are some things that you must write down. 64min

Gospel of Mark - today's background information, is key to understanding this Gospel. If it was truly the first recorded book of the Bible it holds many keys to the foundational truths of Christianity. Therefore we must look at the key players Peter (the eyewitness) & John Mark (the recorder and missionary). The key personal information presented here, along with the personal relationships is important in understanding the "good news message" of who Jesus Christ is as presented in the gospel of Mark. Description
Matthew 14:13-21 This miracle of what Jesus did in feeding the 5000 has so many lessons to teach us. One word you will hear over and over again is the word compassion. Do you have any idea how much Jesus loves you? Even though the disciples had been with Jesus for a long time they needed to be taught about FAITH and TRUST in the one who cares so much for us. We especially need to hear the message of hope in these hard times. God is working out a plan that we don't quite understand right now. However, Jesus is still in the miracle working business. The impossible is God's specialty. Your limited resources plus Jesus equals more than enough. We need to learn that solving physical problems sometimes require a spiritual solution. And, most of all, God has compassion for you. 46min

Luke 11:29-36 Jesus is now really telling us the truth of who we really are & after doing 100's of miracles they still wanted more "signs". John 1:26-34. 2 Gentiles hear the message of God & the Jews don't. The Queen of Sheba & Jonah. Luke 8:16-18. Rom 1:18-23 & 2:4-11. We all have been shown the light - what will we do with it? But what about the religious leaders we follow? Legalism and religion sends people to hell where a relationship with the living loving God assures a place in glory. Description
Matthew 13:31-43 First of all, I must apologize for the recorder not being turned on during verses 31 – 32. Two main point: how can a handful of inexperienced men and women he called the kingdom and Jesus kingdom was quiet humble beginning. Remember, outward appearances count for very little. The power of Almighty God can easily work through humble instruments in ways that are not obvious. From this tiny beginning eventually the whole world would be covered with the gospel. This parable meant that small size or relative power at the beginning does not indicate the final outcome. The leaven was a symbol of internal growth. A spiritual dynamicrather than outward power. Parables separated the curiosity seekers from the true followers. 38min

Description
Matthew 28:1-20 In this first lesson of 2023 we are using the most exciting and history changing event of all time. Jesus Christ's resurrection from the grave! As we examine this world changing event two words come to my mind that you will hear repeatedly during this sermon they are RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY. I pray you will clearly see the relevance of these two words as we proceed through this chapter in Matthew. The primary point is that every living human being the one day stand before God and be held responsible for what God has directed us to do. Our accountability to the most high God cannot be dodged or put off. I pray that this lesson will encourage you during 2023 and that you will remember what is taught here throughout the entire new year. 53min

In contrasting Allah & The Living God of Heaven I made a MISTAKE in my sermon - I have been studying the religion of Islam since Feb 1993! 23 years! Not some 15 years or so -or what ever I said on tape. So God is unchanging in His: (1) essence (2) attributes (3) plans (4) promises (5) threatenings (6) objects of His love. We need as steady, solid, trustworthy God in this crazy violent world. Do you KNOW HIM can you HEAR HIM? 41min

Description
Matthew 18:1-9 In today's lessonwe are going to be challenged and encouraged at the same time. God wants each of us to approach Him in the simplicity of a child. Having confidence, and the understanding that our heavenly father only wants the best for us. Yes the Scripture addresses who is going to be the greatest in heaven; but that question is framed in the wrong way. Your heavenly father recognizes your needs and wants and knows what's best for you. However pride and the nature of things here in this fallen world do not apply in the heavenly realm and we need to understand what Jesus wants for us before we transition to his perfect everlasting kingdom. I pray this thought-provoking and challenging message will give you insight into what Jesus wants for you as his child. 51min

Matthew 18:15-20 In today's world, conflict seems to be everywhere. How are we to get along in this world if we don't know how to resolve conflict? The peace of God will be with those who follow biblical principles in this area but sometimes it is very difficult. We have to understand that dealing with church members ( which our covered Scriptures are about today ) is different than dealing with our unsaved friends and neighbors. But there are good biblical principles to follow in all cases. Sorry this is not a Christmas message, but maybe this will help during some of the conflicts that arise at this time of year. 46min
