2 Peter 1d What will be Your Legacy

2 Peter 1:12-21

Description
2 Peter 1:12-21 In today's lesson Peter reminds us to remember the basics of what God has taught us. We need to have confidence in what the Holy Spirit & Jesus the LivingWord of God has done for us by continually meditating on the basics of our faith. Peter, as he faced death, wanted to continually remind people of what Jesus had done for them. Please meditate on this: the life you see all around you every day is not true reality. ( that is a thought provoker for sure ) BUT true reality is God's spiritual world that we cannot quite see yet. But one day we will! I think you will find this message thought-provoking and encouraging. We all must remember the basics of our faith so that we can be strong and have good courage until the end, just like Peter. 55min

Description
2 Peter 2:1-3 Today's lesson is so vitally important to your eternal well-being! I hate to say it but we are all gullible and subject to believe the lies of Lucifer. Peter spared no words in warning his people against false teachers, and today I will be doing the same. We all must be well-versed in the basic teachings of the Bible, but what happens when minor subtleties start to creep in? I'm going to hit a lot of Bible verses today so have your pen and paper ready; I was surprised and I'm sure you will be to that there are so many Scriptures concerning false teachers. Primary point: Lucifer wants you to doubt the Bible and what Jesus has done for you. This message will help protect you from falling into the trap of lies that can ruin your life. 55min

Description
2 Peter 2:4-11 In today's world there are many who feel like God's judgment of sin will never come. As we study today's text, Peter assures the readers that judgment and rewards will come in God's timing. In the 3 examples shown how God will judge there are many lessons for humanity today. As we get closer and closer to the return of Christ the story of Noah and the flood as well as the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah hold some real clues for us today. When the Bible is speaking about the end times and fallen angels we can relate this also to what is happening on earth today. As we conclude the lesson I will relate some ways to trust God and get through these turbulent times. 61min

Description
2 Peter 2:12-17 Welcome to another hard message from 2nd Peter. Today we will be talking about pseudo-salvation. And those who lead others into false beliefs and teachings about spiritual matters of which they know very little. I hope you listen closely to Martin Luther's quote from a sermon in 1531 concerning standing against false doctrine and those who would lead you away from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and total trust in the Word of God. As we go through today's verses there are huge lessons to learn and to realize that hell is the blackness of darkness forever. I quickly go over 7 different kinds of false sinful people and teachers that you will know what to watch out for. 56min
2 Peter 2d Deceptions of False Teachers

2 Peter 2:18-22

Description
2 Peter 2:18-22 Well, once again Peter is warning us to be very discerning about those we listen to and follow. We need to be fruit inspectors and understand that a little leaven infects the whole loaf. Addressing the question as to whether a person who is saved can lose their salvation is addressed with multiple scriptures. Peter's answer is absolutely not. However, we need to understand that those who don't teach the whole gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit can easily lead astray those who are seeking God's will and eternal life. Empty words sound so good sometimes - but please remember this "the truth is simple". Remember that people are slaves to what ever Masters them. Have you ever considered that you can hurt God when you disobey Him? One last thing, learn to hate the things that are not good for you. 49min

Description
2 Peter 3:1-7 The day of the Lord is soon coming, do you believe it? As we discussed wholesome thinking and the refreshing of your memory, we need to talk a little bit about "pure reason" which is an uncontaminated by senses or a motion. Point number 1:we must remember God's word is our sure foundation. Point number 2: one mocker scoff at the idea of Christ's soon return, they have ignored the fact that God created the universe and will judge it. Point number 3:1 scoffers mocked at the promise of Christ's coming, is because they willfully ignore God's word about of future judgment. We have not yet seen Lucifer's power, signs and lying wonders and the great delusional lie that will cover the earth. Calvin: "you cannot take away the promise of Christ's return without destroying the very core of the gospel." The earth then sinners are reserved for fire. 57min

Description
2 Peter 3:8-13 Today's message is an exciting one; a promise from God that should make every believer's heart joyful. Besides giving us hope, today's message explains some prophecies that many do not know about or understand. Remember God is never tardy or late and always fulfills His promises to us! Love is the reason that Jesus is delaying the destruction of the world. What this will look like is truly amazing. God's deepest desire for the world is repentance and faith so that one day we may spend eternity with Him in a brand-new heaven and earth. We should live each day as though Christ's return could at any monent. I pray you are right with God and are anxiously awaiting Jesus final victory and reward for believers. 55min

What is in the name? Way more than you might have expected. A LOT MORE!!! Today were going to be going over 10 of the more popular names for God and what they mean. By doing this we can start to understand the nature and character of God. I also have a clip off of YouTube that I will be playing for you. Chuck Missler did a presentation (14 years ago?) on what the names from Adam to Noah actually say when explained. I think you'll be very surprised! You can find the 21 minute presentation on YouTube.com if you do a search for Chuck Missler, hidden codes, Adam to Noah. Also the handout I have today on the 10 names of God is available with a lot of the same comments that I made during my sermon. I hope the Mesler recording is understandable (sorry for the interruptions and poor audio), but his visual graphics on YouTube are well worth taking the time to watch it for yourself. 55min

3 John 1-14 Such a small little letter from the Apostle John. But it is full of lessons for us. We are going to talk about a number of things today, some that involve the church as a whole, some that involve ministries, and some that involve you personally. We all need to remember that Jesus has told us how to live and what we are supposed to be doing. We all have a choice in this, today we are going to look at three different lives mentioned in this little letter. Keeping Matthew 10:41-42 in mind, I pray the Holy Spirit will speak to your heart. 45min

Description
3 John 1-14 One of the shortest of the New Testament books & possibly the last one written. It is a wonderful story about the reputation of four men, three good and one bad. Remember your reputation is a valuable asset. In seeking love and truth we must be obedient to what God has taught us, and remember that in this world of spiritual warfare, we want to be men and women of "hope" in what God is doing with us, and for us through Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus, our lives and reputations ought to reflect His love and affection, and hospitality toward others. 29min
8c Truth - In My Word

John 8:31-59

Description
John 8:31-5 In today's lesson we see several major truths. (1) If you "abide in" God's Word only then are you a true disciple. If you are not, studying the Word of God, how will you ever learn what God's truths are, and grow in His grace and knowledge and be all that God wants you to be. (2) Jesus is making a very clear argument that He is the Son of God, the Christ, the Messiah. (3) Everyone is either following their father the devil, or their Father the Living One and only True God. Jesus did not beat around the bush when he told the Pharisees, who were trying to kill him, that they were of their father the devil. We must realize that even today our culture is divided; some trying to follow the truth of the Bible, and others following the lies of the devil. Realizing that only 10% of our population has a Biblical worldview, and less than 4% of millennial's have a Biblical worldview (as discussed in body life). This spiritual warfare will continue until Jesus reigns supreme upon His return. Do you know your Bible well enough to be a well-equipped faithful soldier for the truth that has been revealed through Jesus Christ of Nazareth? 48min

Acts 11:1-30 (wow an entire chapter in one sermon!) Well this is a monumental turn. The Believers at Jerusalem were surprised at Peter's report - "gentiles" receiving the Holy Spirit - how can this be!! But God had a plan for "Christians" in Antioch. Suddenly this new Church of believers is to become the center of out reach to the rest of the world. There are some lessons here to learn that have been forgotten, but are essential in carrying out God's plan even today. 1 Peter 1:3-25 (from NLT) I know we are in Acts 13 but you heard me speak of how Paul & Peter were a lot alike; therefore we will be looking & hearing how Peter conveyed the "Good News" message. There are so many lessons here for the new listener as well as the experienced believer. I praise our Lord God for giving us a 1 chapter "summary" of the entire Gospel Message. If we could just capture this message & share it with people who are seeking God, it would pretty much answer most of their questions of what to believe & what to expect. 32min

Acts 14:1-28 This is the history of Paul's & Barnabas' 1st missionary journey into the pagan gentile lands of modern day middle Turkey. The message is still clear & the opposition is still present (in fact Paul gets stoned!). Knowing when & where to go is key but so is knowing how long to stay & when to leave. The Holy Spirit is always with those who follow Jesus but it doesn't mean we won't be tried. God has revealed Himself to ALL mankind - but some hear and others refuse to hear. Acts 17:16-34 What a lesson in how to reach those who have their own beliefs in God(s). We can learn so much from what Paul did here - as it is not about "religion" but a heart issue, and finding a living relationship with the Creator God who knows us better than we know ourselves. Paul's approach is genus in finding common ground while proclaiming God's everlasting truths. Reaching the people of Athens was not so different than what we face today. But the key is how to get folks to realize that God is not only loving & forgiving but the final judge of who we are & of all we have done. 42min
