Description
Reviewing last week what is one of the most frightening passages in the Bible? What is the ONE main thing to remember? Matt 7:23 & 22:37. For those who know Jesus we look at what can separate Him from us in Romans 8 (nothing). Looking at 2 Peter we find some verses that tie us into the terrible fact of the tribulation in Rev 6-22 & what and why would God pour out His wrath on this earth. Knowing what is to come should be a real motivator to live for Christ & share the story of God's love for all. 55min

Description
Today's lesson is a summary of some of the things we have already learned in Romans. I know for a fact, if you are like me,, it is hard to remember the sermons that have been long past. Maybe, there is a pointer or two that you do remember, but there is one big overpowering concept that needs to be recalled at this point in time. It has to do with God's GRACE and what we understand about it, and what we do with it. Prayerfully today the lesson will help you to reflect personally on how God's grace has impacted your life. We all need to have gratitude, and amazement about how God loves us. Just maybe, this teaching today, will help you reflect on God's love for YOU! 53min

Description
Romans 9:25 - 10:13 Romans chapter 10 verses 9 through 13 some of my very favorite New Testament verses. Today we will be finishing up Romans chapter 9 & looking at some other key Scriptures that every Christian should know, or at the least written down.. A lot of people call this "The Romans Road". If you mark your Bible with what verses come next you can always start in John chapter 3 and explain for someone the need to be saved & lead them through the process. Today's message is a little bit longer because I included some extra things for our folks that were live online. Please have your pen and pencil handy & I pray that each one of you will be able to share these verses with someone one day and see what the Holy Spirit can do through the power of the Word explained to a non-Christian.. 60min
Romans 10b Listening But Not Hearing
Pastor Nelson
Romans 10:14-21

Description
Romans 10:14-21 Today's lesson revolves around a couple of key points. 1. God wants all of us to be bearers of the good news. He also thinks highly of those who testify to His loving plan for mankind. 2. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. So as we examined these verses it struck me that the Pharisees listened but did not actually hear or comprehend what Jesus was telling them. Today we can be the same way, we listen the words but we don't actually hear what is being said to us. God's voice is all around us, but are we actually hearing what he is telling us? We must all remember that being faithful to Jesus and learning what the Bible actually is saying to us is a matter of choice. Those who truly hear and believe are blessed, others not so much. 43min
Romans 11a What God Says about Himself

Romans 11:1-6

Description
Romans 11:1-6 As we start our journey into Chapter 11, Paul is trying to explain to both the Jews and the Gentiles about who God is, and what He has done concerning both the Jews and the Gentiles. The "remnant" is saved by grace and faith; it is not about works, and it is very personal! Is there anyone deserving of heaven? Absolutely not! Ephesians 2:1-10. But if we are to come into a relationship with our God; just who is He anyway? So we turn to Isaiah chapter 40 through 48 to discover what God has to say about Himself! I guess we'll have to do more on Romans 11 next week. I just felt like you needed to know what the prophet Isaiah recorded in about 750 BC about the nature and character of God. After all, how can we serve Him if we don't know Him? 47min

Description
Romans 11:7-36 In this lesson we will learn who are all the "true branches" and what root we belong to. In the beginning of this lesson we find God has given a stupor to the Jews for the benefit of the Gentiles. HE has provided for "the time of the Gentiles". The bottom line is - who is a true Jew, and who is included in the term "all Israel"? We must consider the goodness and the severity of God!! What does it mean when in verse 29 it says for the gifts and the calling of God are revocable? Today's lesson would be impossible without some background from the Old Testament, and yet when we combine the OT and the NT together we get a much clearer picture of God's great plan! I pray this message will give you a better understanding of who you are in Christ Jesus. 52min

Description
Romans 12:1-2 Only two short versus! But oh so much to say in so few words! The question is, do you understand the sacrifice that God requires of you? What does it mean to be a living sacrifice? The handout is so much different than the sermon, but you really need both to understand the subject matter we are going to cover today. We did include most of our communion together today on the disk, that is the reason for the length. I pray this subject will challenge you in your relationship with Jesus Christ. It is a learning process for all of us, but it starts with a renewing of your mind. Of course commitment and determination are involved in becoming all that you can be in Jesus. But, the price paid will be well worth it! Please understand the only thing that God has ever been after is our heart and a loving relationship with Him. 54min

Description
Romans 12:3-13 Whatever we have in the way of natural abilities or spiritual gifts - all should be used with humility for the building up of the body of Christ. A healthy is important. However, neither the puffed up, nor the deflated, are free to serve God. In today's lesson we will be talking about one body with many parts. 1 Corinthians 12:27 says "all of you together are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it." God's gifts differ in nature, power, and effectiveness according to his wisdom and graciousness. God's gifts fulfiller value as they are utilized for the benefit of others. Spiritual gifts will be worthless if they are used in a prideful way, or begrudgingly out of duty, or if they are exercised without love. We are to hate what is evil; and cling to what is good. 45min

Romans 12:14-21 AND 1 Kings 22:1-28 Praise God, HE does not lie and knows the beginning from the end! I praise Jesus for the fact that in His Word we have examples and stories to learn from and follow. As we finish the last part of chapter 12 of Romans we must learn not to curse our enemies but to pray for them. ( if you didn't get the handout please call for one ) I believe that today's lesson in the Old Testament the King of Israel, Ahab, is so appropriate for today. GOD WILL accomplish his purposes! Please read for yourself 1 Kings 22:1-28 and 2 Chronicles 18:18-34. God allowed a lying spirit to go out into the world to accomplish His purpose. You all know that God cannot lie, but He can use demonic forces to bring about His judgment. I believe that is what God is doing today! This is very prophetic and indicates the times in which we live. 49min

Description
Romans 13:1-7 My dear people, I'm so sorry, but was so busy after church last week I forgot to post my sermon. This sermon has raised some questions and challenged people for sure. What should you do when the government is doing evil things? Or what do you do when the government is making you do things you rather not do. The Bible is pretty clear on this, because that was exactly what was happening to the first century Christians we are reading about in the New Testament (but this has occurred throughout man's history). Because of the discussions after the service last week, in the upcoming service I will try to give a few more pointers on what we Christ followers should keep in mind as we endure this life. Paul was trying to explain how we should live within the government structure in which we find ourselves. We must be careful in our relationships with the governing authorities good or bad). Because, it is only then we will be able to share the gospel to help transform society! God's intention of how our rulers and authorities should act is very plain. The people in charge of the population will one day be absolutely accountable to King Jesus for every word and ruling they ever spoke or carried out. And we must remember above all things that God allows governments and government leaders as HE wishes, and only God knows HIS plans for the future! I have a 4 page written handout on this sermon today, and it may be an even a better explanation than my oral sermon presentation. Pleas Call for it if you don't have it!! 60min

Romans 13:8-14 To start today, we have a follow-up on last week's sermon. When should a Christian not do what the government requests of them? Be sure and read last week's handout to go along with this message and also read this week's handout. As we proceed in talking about loving your neighbor, you'll find God's prescription to human wholeness involves us practicing the same kind of love he has shown toward us. It may be difficult for us to do, but we can learn if we place God's principles in our lives and practice daily. this sermon revolves around Mark 12:29-31 and Matthew 22:37-39. However, you will see the same principles in the Old Testament. 48min

Description
Romans 14:1-13 This is a very interesting chapter. Paul is addressing primarily the Jews and the Gentiles because they were fussing about what rules they should live under after accepting Christ. It seems we sometimes get caught up in the same things as they did, endless doctrinal arguments that have nothing to do with the person salvation! Man's traditions versus God's law principles. Paul is stressing the basic principles of love and brotherhood and how we all serve the same Master. And by the way we will all give an accounting before the judgment seat of Christ on what we did with our lives and how we lived as His representatives. Because the Holy Spirit should quicken our conscience of what we should do "and eat or not eat" we may end up in different places. I am praying that this sermon will cause you to examine yourself and how you react to other brothers and sisters who may be in a different place from you on certain practices. 49min

I hope you occasionally do that too. As we finish up Romans chapter 14 today there are some good lessons that need to be applied. And next week I'm going to continue on in some readings I did in Isaiah on God's character while on the mountain. I pray you will enjoy and learn from these two lessons. 46min

Romans 15:1-13 1Thess 5:1-24 In discussing today's lesson, we must keep in mind not only what the early church was going through at the time this was written, but what we are currently going through today. It is vital that the church be united in thought word and deed. As we celebrate communion together, we share something in common with Christians worldwide. Looking at Psalm 34 we are united with our brothers and sisters around the globe. I hope you have the handout for today's lesson, if you don't email me and I will send you a copy. In 1Corinthians 9:19-22 Paul became all things to all men that some might be saved. Romans 16:1-27 In our lesson today, we will be reminiscing with Paul and each of us thinking back about meaningful Christians who have influenced our lives. Today's lesson is one of those times when we need to thank God for the Christian saints in each of our Christian lives. Because without them you wouldn't be where you are today. We each have had so many blessings by the influence of other people in our lives and therefore we are much like Paul. I am so sorry that I forgot to turn on the audio recorder during the first 20 minutes of the sermon. But I do have a rather detailed four page handout explaining who many of these people are that Paul was remembering. Description
Romans 1:1-6 Well, it's a new year, and we are starting a new book of the Bible. The book of Romans has been one of the most influential books of the New Testament since 57 A.D. that I can think of. In this lesson I will give you a little bit of background of the apostle Paul, and what was going on in that period of time. We need to remember that mankind has not changed from the first century until ours! We are still struggling with "the world in which we live" and our natural nature. Praise God that this man named Saul or Paul allowed the Holy Spirit to pin this book about what we should believe, and how we are to believe. I realize that for many this study will be a little bit "heavy", but for the mature believer or the one who is seeking the truth, it will layout the reasons why we must all be confronted with the reality of what Jesus of Nazareth did on the cross. 44min

Rom 1:7-17 Today we will discover the reasons for Paul's desire to travel to Rome. And we will see in two verses a profound concise statement of what it means to be a Christian. Among other things we will be talking about PRAYER & your WALK as a Christian and what the word "Righteousness" means. I have a great handout on this lesson that will help you understand more, if you wish to receive it please contact me at 307-751-2250 or in nanelson@fiberpipe.net. We all must remember that because of the cross and what Jesus did in his resurrection we can all be changed forever. This is not a fantasy hope, but reality. We also need to understand what it really means to believe in Jesus Christ & what the word "salvation" actually means and imparts to us when we accept what has been done by "faith". You will hear the direct words of Paul spoken to you. 48min

Romans 1:18-32 I have been concerned about this sermon for over a month now. It's not because I don't believe the Word of God, or I worry about what people might say about me, or about actually getting in trouble for saying some things that is not politically correct. But, I worry because I want my thoughts and words to be directed by the Holy Spirit and that everyone who hears this message could know how much God loves them, and wants the very best for each and every person who has ever lived. God's word is true and cannot be changed by man's whims or refusal to listen. In my Bible this section is titled "God's wrath on the unrighteous". But have you ever stopped to think that God's wrath is actually a proof of His love. We had excellent body life this morning almost an hour doing a pre-sermon sermon. It was fun because people got to ask questions and talk about today's 5 handouts. Please receive this sermon knowing that God loves you and so do I. 44min

Description
Romans 2:1-16 As Paul addresses the church at Rome and all of those thereafter, he is going to make it very clear that God's judgment is coming not only for the Gentiles but also for the Jews. Because of what was contained in chapter 1 all mankind is without excuse. And the goodness of God should lead us to HIM. But what happens when man's heart is hardened and we rather be judged by the law? We will start to explore this today and finish it next week. Have you ever wondered why God blesses the wicked and evil people to the extent that he does? I will give you Scriptures today so that you will understand why, and it's not a pretty picture. Bottom line, Paul is going to show us why following "the law" is not going to work. Our entrance into heaven is based upon a heart issue. Which we will continue next week. 45min

Description
Romans 2:17-29 Paul had some hard words for the Jews and their depending upon the law for salvation. Pride plays a huge part in where your heart actually is when standing before Almighty God. The question is asked, if you feel so superior to others and able to teach them God's truth, why haven't you learned the truth about yourself and what you believe. The Jewish act of fleshly circumcision will not save. God requires circumcision of the heart as taught in the Old Testament and the new. We also touch briefly on the judgment seat of Christ, which is different than the great white throne judgment. 47min

Romans 3:1-9 Do the Jews have an advantage over us Gentiles? Certainly not. However, Paul in these passages says that the principles apply not only to the Jews but to those who have been and will be grafted in. God gave the Old Testament to the Jewish people so that we all might learn God's precepts along with them. But the problem is hard hearts, and the unwillingness to recognize that we are all sinners. As we start to go through these hard versus I assure you this is not pablum, but meat from the word of God. This is a tough message that a lot of folks don't want to hear, but I must preach the truth of God's word in love to all that will listen. Romans 3:19-26 When man stands before and all Holy God things will become very clear. Whether we like it or not we have fallen short of what God created us to be because of our sin nature. However, Jesus has provided a way to be declared not guilty, righteous, and a friend of God instead of an enemy. Is it enough to try to keep the laws of God? Quite simply, NO. God's standard is impossible for mankind to obtain. It's like trying to do a broad jump from Australia to California. The "law" simply points out to us how far short we are of being able to keep God's commandments. But there is hope in the fact that Jesus went to the cross to bear our sins so that we might be set free through faith in His free gift of salvation. 49min

EASTER SUNDAY April 12, 2020 Well, it has been a wild month with the corona 19 virus. We are all learning all types of new technology and stress relievers, while being separated. But this Sunday was our first ever 16 people joined together visually and verbally for a grand celebration of Christ's resurrection. Crazy stuff! More to the point, the message for today is centered on Luke chapter 12, and Jesus teaching us about what we really need to know concerning this troubled world that we live in. We are not the only folks who have been put to the test over the years. But we must remember that God's word is "eternally true" and there are better things to come for those who know him as Savior and Lord.. I pray today's message will bless you, and make you think about what is really important in this life. Please remember that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning in the end, the first and the last AND IN JESUS we will have peace, fulfillment, and happiness forever. 44min

I do have a handout that I will be mailing to everybody on the subject. It was great seeing you all on our live videoconferencing call for the sermon this morning. The interaction that we can have by hearing and seeing each other I think is better than me just putting a sermon on line for you. Romans 4:13-25 Todaytoday's lesson has to do with simple believing faith. Abraham was declared righteous because he believed God and based his life on the rock solid belief that God could do what He promised. Today, we need to learned some lessons from Romans and Genesis concerning these principles. It is really quite simple. Can "your God" deliver on what he has promised you? What are you basing your life upon? Your own efforts, or God's promises? Prayerfully, this message will help you examine a little more deeply about your faith compared to the faith of Abraham. God loves you, and wants to bless you, the question is, will you believe Him and trust Him to deliver on His promises. It isn't complicated, ( leading into next week's sermon ) FAITH is taking seriously what God has "obligated Himself" to do! Are you willing to look to God, obey God, and wait for God to keep his word. 49min
