Description
Mark 6:14-29 In this week's lesson we see how Godly correction can sometimes bring hatred and even murder. A guilty conscience can cause problems. As we learn about Herod's family and their actions there can be several lessons learned. It is still true today that just and holy people sometimes lose their lives due to the actions of the ungodly. BUT to those of us who have a personal relationship to God through Jesus Christ there is no fear of death. 39min

Mark 6:30-34 Jesus teaches His Disciples to: come aside, in a quiet place, & rest - while seeking God's wisdom. Today we discuss some fascinating details about the Aug 21st Great American Solar Eclipse. A once in a life time event. The handouts are especially valuable so please contact me if you didn't get them. We are living in completely unique times that you should be more fully aware of. God is good in revealing His Love, Power, Forgiveness, Judgement & Majesty. But we must study to understand the times and signs least you be caught unaware! 48min

Description
Mark 6:35-44 Today we learned some lessons about God's creative miracle problem-solving. Jesus was full of compassion and taught them many things, but the crowd of possibly10,000 also needed to be fed. This account is in all four Gospels therefore it must be important. Did the people there really understand what was being taught to them about the kingdom of God and who Jesus is? The disciples didn't even get it! Jesus is the living bread of life. We have lots of handouts on the coming solar eclipse. If you're interested please let me know and consider helping to support this Internet ministry. 44 min

Description
Mark 6:45 - 7:3 Jesus proves Himself to be God in 3 miracles immediately after feeding the "10,000", but the disciples still don't get it although amazed. Just like today Jesus has a hard time teaching us when we have hard hearts. Remembering Old Testament scriptures should be enough but if we don't read our Bibles & know what it says we can't readily see the connection. The Word of God is vital but then we see the "Traditions of Men" taking over what we really need to know & understand. 46min
Mark 7a Traditions vs Hearts
Pastor Nelson
Mark 7:1-23

Description
Mark 7:1-23 Today's lesson deals with our proper thinking of how we can please God & serve Him. Is it really about rituals & rules; or is it more personal than that? Are our traditions from and about God, or man? As Jesus teaches here it really is more about a heart issue than anything else. Using some Old Testament scriptures the Pharisees should have understood this, but then His disciples didn't get it either. After all these years mankind seems to be stuck in the same old rut. So we need to learn some major lessons on what God expects from us. 46min

Mark 7:24-37

Description
Mark 7:24-37 Today's lesson will be in two parts: first looking at Jesus healing at a distance and then His healing the deaf-mute. This concludes Mark chapter 7. Next we will talk about "The Bible", and the importance of regularly reading God's Word for yourself! There is a general dryness among Christian believers reading, on a daily basis, God's Word. I don't want to "beat on the sheep" because I know some of you are in the Word daily, however, so much can be gained from the consistent reading of God's Word we need to at least address this subject briefly. Do you commune with God daily by reading and meditating on His Word? Think about this, the Creator of the universe wishes to speak to YOU personally through "His Recorded Words"!! - so are we taking time to listen to Him? It's difficult I know, but don't we owe Him at least some time to speak to us? There are 5 main themes God has been sharing with us for at least 4000 years - will you pick up on these, study them out, & make them your own? 48min

Mark 8:1-15

Description
Mark 8:1-15 Today Jesus has to show the Disciples once again Who He Is by the feeding of the 4 thousand. They didn't get it the first time because of their hard hearts. It is amazing how slow we all are in comprehending the Deity of Jesus. I'm so glad when I don't "get it" that God is patient with me! We also hit on the fact that the miracles and wonders of Jesus don't cause a non-believer to have a "life saving epiphany" but they do help the "believer's" faith. 40min

Description
Mark 8:22-33 Today as we see how Jesus healed the blind man at Bethsaida we can make some parallels with ourselves. How clear is our vision as to who Jesus really is & what He can do? The old testament told us about the coming "Savior, Anointed One, Healer, Judge, & THE New Covenant"; so why was The "Son of Man" so hard to recognize? And the BIG QUESTION: Who do YOU say that this "Jesus the Christ is?" And why is this is important?? What does the OT and Jesus in the NT say about himself? We need to see more clearly! 44min

Description
Mark 8:31 - Mark 9:13 You have to love the Apostle Peter. Here were going to see him blow it twice. Repeating slightly, verses 31 through 33 reveal why it was so important for Jesus to get to Jerusalem. But then comes a big lesson, we need to understand what it means to pick up our cross daily. Then we will look at the Transfiguration of Jesus and why it was so significant. People today still have a hard time understanding exactly who Jesus is. Don't be too hard on the disciples for not understanding, frequently we don't understand totally what Jesus did and meant too. We all are a lot like Peter. 44min

Description
Mark 9:14-29 Can a believer have doubts - absolutely! Does God ever get frustrated with us? Is there anything we can do to help our faith? Why is it important to ask God for help? Unbelief has no power. Our power failure is directly linked with our prayer failure. Lots of different Bible verses today! Some big lessons in Jesus healing the deaf-mute boy and casting out the evil spirit. We fail for exactly the same reasons the disciples failed in this simple task. We need to recognize the power of God is not limited by our circumstances. We need to pray like the boys father, "Lord I believe; help my unbelief!" 47min

Description
Mark 9:30-50 We start with a scripture from Jeremiah 23 & a warning to those who speak in the name of the Lord. It will make sense as we go on. In Mark 9 Jesus is hitting 3 main points (a) we must be like children in our relationship with Him (b) there are strong words concerning our relationship with other believers & the teaching of new or immature believers (c) we need to examine ourselves for the sins that need to be cut out of our lives. God as the perfect loving father wants a simple relationship with us - He loves us & provides for us. He simply wants us to be obedient children. 46min

Mark 11:1-11 As Jesus comes into Jerusalem with his disciples, there are some interesting lessons to be learned in these few versus. How the beginning of the week can fulfill so many prophecies, and bring about so much joy and by the end of the week, end up with six trials over no guilt found and yet condemned to crucifixion. You may not have thought of some of these minor details, but they do remind us who we are & who Jesus is. The Old & New Testament perfectly complement each other. What would you have thought about the happenings going on around you in those days? 40min

Matthew 5:1-12 For me the next several Sundays are going to be exciting to review with you. Because Jesus is laying out very clearly what the kingdom of God is all about, and how we should conduct ourselves. The people at heard these blessed words were a lot like us. They had trials and frustrations that have always been common to man. So if we listen to Jesus's words and realize this is what God would like us to learn and follow it will be a very profitable time for all of us. In this first short section there are promises that we need to understand and hang onto. I pray you will write down some notes as the Holy Spirit brings some precious thoughts into your mind. 45min

Mathew 5:17-20 What a good topic for going into 2021. How then shall we live? As we study the Bible there are many excellent pointers as to how Christians can learn to more than just survive. In this lesson I will have five points: God is not finished with you yet, God is always working, Crisis is God's tool, Jesus is the foundation, and Count it all joy. Under each of these topics multiple scriptures will be given to help you understand what God's will is for your life and growth. It wouldn't hurt to have pencil and paper ready. 55min

Description
Matthew 8:1-13 In chapters 8 and 9 of Matthew we will be discussing 10 miracles. Today we will be talking about the first two; the healing of the leper, and then the healing of the centurion's servant. The short little accounts of actual events are recorded in Matthew Mark and Luke. I like that each accounting shows us some slight variations. There is much to be learned from these miracles, because today we so need examples of how we should live. Jesus proved beyond a shadow of doubt that he was the Messiah. However, the people are expecting something totally different. I pray you can relate to some of what we are teaching here, and that it will help you grow in your walk with Christ. 53min

Mathew 8:14-17 plus the story of two grand entrances into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday most Christians understand about Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a unbroken young donkey .... but have you heard about Pilate's entrance into Jerusalem that same day? Oh, what lessons we have to learn today! And how it ties into Jesus healing Peter's mother-in-law and all people that came to the house that day. I pray you will enjoy this teaching and apply it to what is going on in the world today. We all have two choices, to follow the way of the world's might and power, or to follow the way of the humble Messiah. 51min

Description
Matthew 5:21-32 As you may have already discovered there was no sermon posted last Sunday because I was in the hospital. I thank you for your prayers and concerns, but all things are in God's hands and in his timing. I am so happy to be able to continue on in our study of Matthew chapter 5. There are some really important lessons today that Jesus personally spoke to in the time of the apostles but also is speaking to our hearts today. Anger, lust, and divorce is out of control. We have simply forgotten and refused to obey the commands of God that were laid down so many years ago. I have so much more to say about these topics but as time restrains, I pray the Holy Spirit will use what is said here to prompt your spirit to hear the personal message that God is speaking to you today. I love you all so much, but we are drying so close to the time of the rapture there is little time to not seek God's truth, and start living the way demands that we live as followers of Christ. Love your neighbor as yourself, seek the best for others, learn to forget and trust God for His direction in your life. 50min

Matthew 10:1-17 Today as we study how Jesus sent out His disciples on their first ministry trips; there are some good lessons for us today. Keep in mind one of the main lessons being taught was "the kingdom of heaven is near". As we learn the principal "freely you have received, freely you should give", we learned that humility and moderation is the key lesson. I also address the fact that a labor is worthy of his wages when doing the gospel ministry. Toward the end, I address where the world is right now, and go over some prophetic scriptures of what is going to happen after the rapture. The question is are you prepared for what's coming? 55min

Matthew 10:16-26 As we study this section of Jesus teaching, we know as Christians we are going to be as sheep among the wolves. There are some important lessons being taught in these verses. Persecution is not new, and it will continue until we are out of here. But we know we can have peace in the middle of tribulation because Jesus has overcome the world. We are to be wise and understand the battle that we are in because it is a war between good and evil. There are some practical lessons included here but probably one of the most important is not to fear these coming persecutions. 49min

Learning the nature and the character of God is one of the first things HE desires of us. Understanding that he knows every detail about us and our lives is also vital. Have you ever stopped to think about what it meant when Jesus said "I did not come to bring peace but a sword". We are in spiritual warfare right now, and the time of the rapture is getting very close. We must all learn to be FATOs - that is faithful, available, teachable, and obedient. We also covered what it means to give up our life here to gain eternal life in heaven. 52min

Matthew 10:40 - 11:19 Jesus speaking to us in this message teaches us multiple concepts. A biggie is how we are to share Jesus Christ with others. Remember, people don't reject you they reject the gospel message of Jesus and the love of God the Father. Another big lesson is that all Christians at times may have some doubts because even John the Baptist did. Today we also address the fact that excepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior involves battle. Spiritual warfare. When we talk about what it means to actually understand the gospel message sometimes the hearing may be there will the actual listening is missing. And lastly we talk about apologetics. What is the best way to share with others? Your personal testimony. 57min

Description
Matthew 11:20-30 & Luke 10-16 First of all I would like to say I'm sorry for not posting this last week. In today's lesson, Jesus had a lot to say about hearing the word of God and not acting upon it. In the next year or two, there are going to be some really big changes to the way we have to live here in the United States. We need to humble ourselves before God and pray for mercy and protection as prophecy is being fulfilled at every turn. Does anyone fear God anymore? It is past time to step up our commitment to the Word of God and following Jesus Christ in word and deed. As we come to better understand the "yoke" of Jesus, I pray you will understand that there is much work to be done, but the burden is light, and the joys of our Lord are unspeakable. 50min

Description
Matthew 12:1-14 & 2 Thesalonians 2:11 & 1 Kings 22:23 Today's lesson, is a composite of two big principles that must be known and understood. The lesson from Matthew is pretty straightforward. The seventh day rest before God is for man and his relationship with the creator. It isn't about the law, it's about love, mercy, and relationship. The Pharisees were so intent on religious practices that they totally missed the point. In the second part of this message I address some changes that are coming that we all must face. God's prophetic word is coming true and Christ's soon return is at the door. Lies and deceptions are everywhere, people are confused, and the old normal is now gone forever. It is time to cling fast to the Word of God, our relationship with Jesus Christ, and not lose hope in His promises to us his children. Yes, God can allow evil lies and deceptions to help bring about HIS perfect plan. God knows you, loves you, and wants to spare you from the prophecies that are coming soon. 51min

Matthew 12:15-30

Description
Matthew 12:15-30 In our teaching this week, there is going to be quite a bit of emphasis on the workings of the Holy Spirit. As Jesus healed the sick and cast out demons the religious leaders of the day refused to recognize the power of God. They even accused Jesus of working on the power of Satan. As our days grow darker under the influence of evil we must all (as Christ followers) learn more about how the Holy Spirit works and to hear that still small voice of God's love and compassion toward mankind. Included are eight scriptures from Matthew on what the Holy Spirit is and does. There is no neutral ground, either we are on God's side in this spiritual war or we are part of the devils company who will be judged and condemned forever. 57min

Matthew 13:31-43 First of all, I must apologize for the recorder not being turned on during verses 31 – 32. Two main point: how can a handful of inexperienced men and women he called the kingdom and Jesus kingdom was quiet humble beginning. Remember, outward appearances count for very little. The power of Almighty God can easily work through humble instruments in ways that are not obvious. From this tiny beginning eventually the whole world would be covered with the gospel. This parable meant that small size or relative power at the beginning does not indicate the final outcome. The leaven was a symbol of internal growth. A spiritual dynamicrather than outward power. Parables separated the curiosity seekers from the true followers. 38min

Description
Matthew 13:24-30 and 2Peter 2:1-22 In today's lesson we will attempt to explain why we live in a world containing both good and evil. Although it may not answer all your questions, Jesus parable on the wheat and the tares contains several lessons for us. But in order to do this properly you should have listened to last week's sermon. If not please listen to last week's topic about the four types of soils. First of all we must remember that the work of judgment belongs totally to God. There are three points you should understand about the really tough question of "if God is all-powerful and good where does it evil come from and why is it permitted." As we go into second Peter chapter 2 we see how God has laid this all out. God will not eliminate the opposition until the end of the age. So remember, God does the weeding. 44min

As Jesus is using every day things that help explain the spiritual, hopefully anyone who has ears to hear can pick up on the deeper meanings. I pray you remember the example of the Pearl, because as we look at that part of the Scripture we can see how Jesus Christ is changing our lives and we are becoming something of great value. I believe Ephesians 2:1-10 helps bring out even greater meaning to today's teaching. 45min
