Description
Ephesians 6:10-18 This is part two of how we are to know our enemy and fight the spiritual battles of this world. The Ephesians Scripture contains a lot of information, but I have tried to elaborate some practical things in our fight against evil and the devil. Spiritual warfare should be defensive and there are definitely some rules we should follow. We must remember that this is God's fight not ours even though we are involved in the middle of it. Knowing what Satan's primary purpose is and some of the tactics he employs will better equip us to face our 'day of evil'. At the end I will give you the 5R's of spiritual warfare which will help you get through your coming battles in better shape. 52min This sermon is also written out should you want a copy of it - just let me know.

Description
Because of an incident this last Sunday and Monday today's sermon is going to be completely different than usual. As Christ followers, we need to understand fully the 'hidden enemy' that so many people ignore & that we face every day. You probably already know this, but Satan is alive and well on planet Earth. He has probably already conquered (maybe) 90% of the world. As followers of Jesus Christ it is our DUTY to know and understand that Satan and the evil that is so prevalent in the world is not the winning force! Be encouraged! God is in control and in charge! We should not be fearful, nor neglect our God-given warrior skills to help combat and contain the enemy of Christ, every Christian, and every Church. This has been a difficult study crammed into a very short period of time. Satan does not want to be exposed for who he is and what he does. Therefore, in this two-part (maybe) study I will attempt to educate, encourage, reinforce, & challenge you in your fight against our enemy who is already a conquered foe of Jesus our Lord. I took the time to write down dozens and dozens of Scriptures for every comment made during this sermon. So if you would like one of those handouts please contact me so that you can do your own study of the individual Scriptures that formulate the body of this sermon. 57min

Description
Luke 2:36 to the end of chapter tells us once again that there were those who faithfully waited for the coming Messiah. This faithful knowledge of God's Word & the willingness to serve God gives us a good picture of what we need to be doing today. As a 2 part sermon we need to come to grips with "can we know the times in which Christ will return?" And what effect will this have on my life? Next week we look at the fig tree & what is a generation. Rom 11:11-12,18-22,25-26. 2Pet 3:1-9. Jam 1:2-8. 1Thess 5:1-6,9. Luke 12:56 Lk 13:6-9. Matt 24:3 Matt 24:36. 49min

Description
John 11:1-16 Today's lesson although not an easy one, is a very important one. How many of you have thought "why me Lord?" or "this can't be happening now Lord!" Well it does! God's timing is not our timing. But we need to understand that God loves us and does hear our prayers. We also need to understand that in this life God allows trials to teach us, grow us, and learn to trust Him more. This story about raising Lazarus from the dead has so many implications. When you and I read the Bible, many times we just gloss over important things and don't really meditate on what those scriptures really mean. I hope this lesson and my hand out (available if you just give me a call) will help you cope with your challenges of life. God bless you in your trials of life! 38min

Description
Being motivated by the nearness of Christ's return we must understand the times in which we live so we can free others from the hardships of this life; they really have no hope for the future. 6 signs of the end of days are given by Jesus in Matthew 24. And 2 characteristics of the ending age are given by the Apostle Paul. Are YOU ready should this world that we know be ended in the next few years? Have you considered what it would be like to face "the Lord of Lords" suddenly and have no more chances to do what the Lord wanted you to accomplish? 46min

Description
Many scriptures are going to be covered today. But our primary teaching will be taken from James chapter 1, Philippians chapters 3 and 4, and Hebrews chapters 10 and 12. As the times we live in are becoming more tumultuous and stressful we need to understand that God wants His children to live in peace. So how do we stand strong in the times when everything around us is falling apart? There are specific guidelines that we will address today from God's Word. I pray that this message will encourage you to stand strong even when you feel like everything is falling apart. Be ready with your pencil and paper, because there are quite a few other scriptures that play into today's lesson that you may want to jot down and memorize. 59min
Romans 9b God's Sovereignty Pt2

Romans 9:10-24
Loading the player...
Description
Romans 9:10-24 God's sovereignty cannot be argued with, and we will never totally understand it until we are with Him face-to-face. Continuing on in our effort to understand "our call", and God's choice, and election; today we will talk about Jacob and Esau & why God hardened Pharaoh's heart. No one can demand that God explain why He has done what He has chosen to do concerning people or even nations. It is impossible for finite beings to totally understand an infinite God and how He works. So we must go back to Romans 8:28 "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him." Does the clay have the right to tell the Potter what He should make, or how He should make it? We must remember from Bible history (and then present times) God is always doing three things: A. Showing His wrath on the unjust B. Making known His unlimited power and knowledge C. Making His glory, mercy, love, and justice known to the entire world. 48min

Romans 9:1-9 Oh Boy! Last week we had technical problems with the MP3 recorder! Like the guy running it (ME) forgot to turn it on.! I'm so sorry! You really did miss out on some good teaching, and encouragement, in God's Word. But I will try to hit some of the high points briefly again today. "Like it all working together" , and "who can be against you as God's chosen child". So anyway, what happened this week? As you will note in the recording, once again I went "brain-dead" and you missed the first five minutes because I forgot to turn on the recorder again. Boy oh boy, what is happening here? SO to the main point. I mailed out the five page handout this morning of what I wanted to cover in Romans chapter 9:1-24. We barely got through page 1 &2, the first nine verses. As I said in my email, this is "tough meat" from God's Word, so don't be discouraged just pray about it and continue to study! Do you really understand "predestination" and God's call on your life? PLEASE if you have questions about this subject matter CALL ME!! Hopefully the handout will explain some of what I tried to get across this morning. AND the Holy Spirit will help you sort this out, but this has been an area of fierce debate among theologians for years. Paul approached it head-on, and so am I, I pray today's sermon will be not only be enlightening but challenging. We will have more to say about this subject next week. 51min

Description
Romans 8:26-30 In today's lesson were going to hit a couple of key points that are vital to every Christian's walk with the Lord. First of all we need to learn to be patient as some things are happening that we don't like or appreciate. Today we went over the apostles Creed and had communion before I started the recorder. By now you should understand that the Holy Spirit helps us pray when we don't know how. But there are other key things to know about prayer. Romans 8:28 should read we know, that in all things God works for the good, of those who love Him. We must remember that God is not working to make us happy, but to fulfill his purpose. In our discussion of Romans 8:29-30 we talked about what is predestination and election?. 43min

Romans 8:18-25 My study for this week took me to so many different places in the Scriptures. The handout is four pages long, but as you will note in the sermon I never got past the first page. Being in the middle of this COBIT 19 pandemic, it has been a very interesting experience. I have been seeing the magnification of evil plans and evil people beyond my wildest dreams. BUT at the same time I am seeing so many prophecies fulfilled, and God's love poured out in so many ways that it is just extremely exciting to see how much God loves each of us! As Christ's return draws nearer I pray you are drawing nearer to Christ. His promises of what is to come is worth whatever we must go through. Be encouraged and keep looking up. 47min

Romans 8:1-17 I sincerely apologize for not turning on the microphone at the beginning of the service. We had a prayer and a little reflection on Memorial Day and what it means. I also went to John chapter 5 verses 24-30 to talk about Jesus soon return and judgment. I then remembered to turn on the recorder as we were going to Romans chapter 8. I love this chapter because Paul makes it so clear that the law cannot save, it only pronounces the sentence. Today we talked a lot about the Holy Spirit and what he does in our lives and the fact that there is a constant war going on in our minds and bodies. But please remember you are more than conquerors. You are the sons and daughters of the living God. You are the ones that Jesus died and rose again for, and one day you will share in God's glory Romans 8:18. The entire universe is looking forward to the conclusion of God's plan! 41min
Romans 7 SIN- Why Do We Do It

Description
Romans 7 The SIN subject - none of us like to talk about this very much. But we started last week in chapter 6 on this subject area & it is crucial to the believer in understanding what Christ has done for us. As I think about what was presented today, I probably should have done this chapter in two sermons. But it is what it is. AND you need to know that chapter 7 and 8 go together as one. In chapter 7 Paul compares our bond with sin like a marriage. But we can be freed to have a new better life in Christ as the sin in us was supposed to be put to death on the cross. Rememer? It is important that you have my hand out as you study this chapter. (if anyone needs a copy of this it is totally free, just let me know you have need of it). Something we must all remember is that Paul struggled with them just like we do. I wish we had had more time and I could've gone into that in more depth. But as you study the last part of Romans seven listen to Paul's heart and struggle. We all can relate! 47min

Romans 6:1-23

Description
Romans 6:1-23 Today were going to talk about a neglected subject in the modern day church. We are going to talk about which master do you serve. You see as it says in verse 16 everyone is a slave to someone or something! As we address the concept of "have we died in our relationship to sin" - we all have a choice to make. Or to put it another way, has your old man been crucified on the cross with Christ? You see death is the currency and payoff of the sin kingdom. Whereas, the payoff for being subject to Jesus Christ and crucified with Him means we will have eternal life and God's blessing. But why do we have to be crucified? Because there is only one way to get rid of our inborn nature of sin. And that is to kill that old nature, and allow Christ to raise us up regenerated in Him. Pretty serious stuff today, but an area we should not ignore. 42min
Romans 5a God's Control & Ownership

Description
Romans Chapter 5 I can't believe somehow this sermon got dropped off the list. NO ONE TOLD ME!!! So sorry about that. So as we add it 2 weeks late, I pray that some of you may go back and listen to it as chapter 5 had some important concepts presented. Primarily "faith is taking seriously what God has obligated Himself to do". Have you ever stopped to think that God's purpose is to re-create in you the image of His Son and His Glory! That's kind of a mind blower isn't it. But this will not come without our testing and suffering. Above all else, we must remember that God is in total control. And when we are reconciled to God is only through what His Son has done for us. So, with all the garbage that's going on here on earth, you have a choice of which kingdom you want to live in. Do you choose to live in the kingdom of grace or in the kingdom of sin? 48min

Jesus went forth in power after the temptation. And so can we because Christ lives in us. Romans 5:6-21 shows us that HE has not only given us strength but we can be His sons & daughters forever. Sinners turned into saints through Christ's "reconciliation" ie God declaring us no longer enemies but forgiven & righteous. Grace - God's Riches At Christ's Expense! Eph 2:1-3 Gal 4:3-7 Col 2:8-9 also help explain this concept. 39min

Description
Romans 4:13-25 Todaytoday's lesson has to do with simple believing faith. Abraham was declared righteous because he believed God and based his life on the rock solid belief that God could do what He promised. Today, we need to learned some lessons from Romans and Genesis concerning these principles. It is really quite simple. Can "your God" deliver on what he has promised you? What are you basing your life upon? Your own efforts, or God's promises? Prayerfully, this message will help you examine a little more deeply about your faith compared to the faith of Abraham. God loves you, and wants to bless you, the question is, will you believe Him and trust Him to deliver on His promises. It isn't complicated, ( leading into next week's sermon ) FAITH is taking seriously what God has "obligated Himself" to do! Are you willing to look to God, obey God, and wait for God to keep his word. 49min

We are going to go over the given text in Romans but then we are going to turn to what is going on in the world today with the coronavirus. The idea of faith in Romans naturally leads us to how God is sovereign, and calling us to be closer to Him by exercising and deepening our faith. I do have a handout that I will be mailing to everybody on the subject. It was great seeing you all on our live videoconferencing call for the sermon this morning. The interaction that we can have by hearing and seeing each other I think is better than me just putting a sermon on line for you. Don't forget to keep in touch with each other by phone during the week. And thank you for the great job you do in taking care of each other. 43min

EASTER SUNDAY April 12, 2020 Well, it has been a wild month with the corona 19 virus. We are all learning all types of new technology and stress relievers, while being separated. But this Sunday was our first ever 16 people joined together visually and verbally for a grand celebration of Christ's resurrection. Crazy stuff! More to the point, the message for today is centered on Luke chapter 12, and Jesus teaching us about what we really need to know concerning this troubled world that we live in. We are not the only folks who have been put to the test over the years. But we must remember that God's word is "eternally true" and there are better things to come for those who know him as Savior and Lord.. I pray today's message will bless you, and make you think about what is really important in this life. Please remember that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning in the end, the first and the last AND IN JESUS we will have peace, fulfillment, and happiness forever. 44min

Description
Romans 3:19-26 When man stands before and all Holy God things will become very clear. Whether we like it or not we have fallen short of what God created us to be because of our sin nature. However, Jesus has provided a way to be declared not guilty, righteous, and a friend of God instead of an enemy. Is it enough to try to keep the laws of God? Quite simply, NO. God's standard is impossible for mankind to obtain. It's like trying to do a broad jump from Australia to California. The "law" simply points out to us how far short we are of being able to keep God's commandments. But there is hope in the fact that Jesus went to the cross to bear our sins so that we might be set free through faith in His free gift of salvation. 49min

Romans 3:10-20 Paul is telling us, there is no one group of people better than another. We all fall short of what God wants us to be. The blunt truth is, we are ALL sinners. This is a basic truth that we must accept in order to understand why we need a Savior. But praise God, Jesus came so that we might be declared righteous before in all holy God. We can be changed! This is a tough message that a lot of folks don't want to hear, but I must preach the truth of God's word in love to all that will listen. We had a delightful communion this morning, everyone remembering exactly what Jesus Christ has done for them personally since their acceptance of His love and forgiveness. 49min

Description
Romans 3:1-9 Do the Jews have an advantage over us Gentiles? Certainly not. However, Paul in these passages says that the principles apply not only to the Jews but to those who have been and will be grafted in. God gave the Old Testament to the Jewish people so that we all might learn God's precepts along with them. But the problem is hard hearts, and the unwillingness to recognize that we are all sinners. As we start to go through these hard versus I assure you this is not pablum, but meat from the word of God. You may hear some things that offend you, but be patient and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you what you need to know. 45min

Description
Romans 2:17-29 Paul had some hard words for the Jews and their depending upon the law for salvation. Pride plays a huge part in where your heart actually is when standing before Almighty God. The question is asked, if you feel so superior to others and able to teach them God's truth, why haven't you learned the truth about yourself and what you believe. The Jewish act of fleshly circumcision will not save. God requires circumcision of the heart as taught in the Old Testament and the new. We also touch briefly on the judgment seat of Christ, which is different than the great white throne judgment. 47min

Description
Romans 2:1-16 As Paul addresses the church at Rome and all of those thereafter, he is going to make it very clear that God's judgment is coming not only for the Gentiles but also for the Jews. Because of what was contained in chapter 1 all mankind is without excuse. And the goodness of God should lead us to HIM. But what happens when man's heart is hardened and we rather be judged by the law? We will start to explore this today and finish it next week. Have you ever wondered why God blesses the wicked and evil people to the extent that he does? I will give you Scriptures today so that you will understand why, and it's not a pretty picture. Bottom line, Paul is going to show us why following "the law" is not going to work. Our entrance into heaven is based upon a heart issue. Which we will continue next week. 45min

Romans 1:18-32 I have been concerned about this sermon for over a month now. It's not because I don't believe the Word of God, or I worry about what people might say about me, or about actually getting in trouble for saying some things that is not politically correct. But, I worry because I want my thoughts and words to be directed by the Holy Spirit and that everyone who hears this message could know how much God loves them, and wants the very best for each and every person who has ever lived. God's word is true and cannot be changed by man's whims or refusal to listen. In my Bible this section is titled "God's wrath on the unrighteous". But have you ever stopped to think that God's wrath is actually a proof of His love. We had excellent body life this morning almost an hour doing a pre-sermon sermon. Description
Romans 1:1-6 Well, it's a new year, and we are starting a new book of the Bible. The book of Romans has been one of the most influential books of the New Testament since 57 A.D. that I can think of. In this lesson I will give you a little bit of background of the apostle Paul, and what was going on in that period of time. We need to remember that mankind has not changed from the first century until ours! We are still struggling with "the world in which we live" and our natural nature. Praise God that this man named Saul or Paul allowed the Holy Spirit to pin this book about what we should believe, and how we are to believe. I realize that for many this study will be a little bit "heavy", but for the mature believer or the one who is seeking the truth, it will layout the reasons why we must all be confronted with the reality of what Jesus of Nazareth did on the cross. 44min
