Description
Mark 8:31 - Mark 9:13 You have to love the Apostle Peter. Here were going to see him blow it twice. Repeating slightly, verses 31 through 33 reveal why it was so important for Jesus to get to Jerusalem. But then comes a big lesson, we need to understand what it means to pick up our cross daily. Then we will look at the Transfiguration of Jesus and why it was so significant. People today still have a hard time understanding exactly who Jesus is. Don't be too hard on the disciples for not understanding, frequently we don't understand totally what Jesus did and meant too. We all are a lot like Peter. 44min
Mark 9b Belief and Doubt

Mark 9:14-29

Description
Mark 9:14-29 Can a believer have doubts - absolutely! Does God ever get frustrated with us? Is there anything we can do to help our faith? Why is it important to ask God for help? Unbelief has no power. Our power failure is directly linked with our prayer failure. Lots of different Bible verses today! Some big lessons in Jesus healing the deaf-mute boy and casting out the evil spirit. We fail for exactly the same reasons the disciples failed in this simple task. We need to recognize the power of God is not limited by our circumstances. We need to pray like the boys father, "Lord I believe; help my unbelief!" 47min

Mark 9:30-50

Description
Mark 9:30-50 We start with a scripture from Jeremiah 23 & a warning to those who speak in the name of the Lord. It will make sense as we go on. In Mark 9 Jesus is hitting 3 main points (a) we must be like children in our relationship with Him (b) there are strong words concerning our relationship with other believers & the teaching of new or immature believers (c) we need to examine ourselves for the sins that need to be cut out of our lives. God as the perfect loving father wants a simple relationship with us - He loves us & provides for us. He simply wants us to be obedient children. 46min

Description
Several OT & NT texts. God the Father & Jesus the Son, have been saying the same thing throughout the Old Testament and New Testament. Hear Me & obey Me & and it will go well for you. God has always kept his promises. Israel has a promised land and his people were returned to it. God is over individuals, countries, and the world. We can stay within the will of God and experience His love and peace when we learn and honor His Word. Ja 1:21, Jer 26:12-13 & 38:20, Deut 6:12 & 7:12, Deut 28:1, Neh 1:5 & 8-9, 1John 2:1-6. 44min
Mark 10b Marriage & Divorce
Pastor Nelson
Mark 10:1-12
Loading the player...
Description
Mark 10:1-12 Marriage and divorce is a difficult topic to preach on (because some may be offended on what is about to be said). So we need to stick with what the Bible says in both the Old Testament and the New Testament to get a proper perspective. Two thoughts-marriage is not about making you happy, & marriage was meant to be a picture ( a flag, or symbol) about God's love and commitment to you. There may be some hard things in this sermon to accept in our politically correct society, but God's truths are forever right and proper. Please open your mind to what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us today, just like He did to God's chosen people in Old Testament times. 49 min
Mark 10c Child Like Faith

Mark 10:13-31

Description
Mark 10:13-31 These scriptures flow together so easily. God's lessons are so simple if we are able to hear what He is saying. Childlike faith is essential to inherit eternal life. Adult self-sufficiency must cease when we are talking about the Kingdom of God. Who would dare to hinder a child coming to know God? We can intellectually understand God's commandments and yet miss the heart of the issue! All the things that adults usually strive for are useless in obtaining eternal life. An inheritance is given and not earned, it can only be accepted as a gift. This was & is a key lesson for the disciples as well as you, all the principles still apply. Will you hear the Holy Spirit today? 46min PS A shocker "Why does God allow the wicked to prosper?"
Mark 10d Servanthood & Blind Eyes
Pastor Nelson
Mark 10:35-52

Description
Mark 10:35-52 In today's lesson, we learn about servant leadership and blind eyes seeing from the heart. James and John were part of the inner circle of Jesus yet they sought powerful positions because of self-centeredness. Have you considered what it costs to follow Christ? Verse 45 is a key verse in Mark & marks a turning point. Bartimaeus saw the Messiah with blind eyes and a pure heart. His cries made Jesus standstill. The Old Testament and the New Testament both tell the same story about where we should be coming from and headed toward. Thankfulness is a huge part of being a Christian. 48min

Description
Mark 11:1-11 As Jesus comes into Jerusalem with his disciples, there are some interesting lessons to be learned in these few versus. How the beginning of the week can fulfill so many prophecies, and bring about so much joy and by the end of the week, end up with six trials over no guilt found and yet condemned to crucifixion. You may not have thought of some of these minor details, but they do remind us who we are & who Jesus is. The Old & New Testament perfectly complement each other. What would you have thought about the happenings going on around you in those days? 40min

Description
Mark 11:15-26 Well we have had a great history lesson. Thank you Pastor Hayden Porter. Thinking about what Pastor Porter has shared & the lesson for today, I know prayer and faith in God was a huge part of what was going on back in 1776. We all must know that our faith in God is essential along with understanding his precepts. Next week we will talk more about the will of God, our responsibility to be productive, and what it takes to have our prayers answered. So today I'm going to give you just a slight preview of what we are going to cover next week. 15min

Description
Pastor Hayden Porter presents few short biblical facts. And then a short history of what happened during Christmas 1776 and the fight for freedom for our nation. Gen. George Washington (one of our greatest ever generals) because of his faith in God and dedication to the purpose of "freedom for all" fought a fight that we should never forget. I'm sure many prayers were said by all in those days. God's ultimate will ultimately prevailed (after many miracles) to create a new nation under God, and our understanding HIS precepts that helped form the very fabric of this nation. 22min

Mark 11:14 In a way I'm sorry that I am not more conventional. But God has laid on my heart to teach hard truths that are NOT the usual "milk" given to everyday folks in Christianity. I feel like a voice crying in the wilderness. There are so many things going on right now that as followers of Christ you need to be aware of. My job as a pastor is not to lessen the pain that you must go through in this life, but to teach you how to endure and overcome through the promises of God. today's quick Scripture lesson was different than I thought it would be, we primarily focus on John 15:1-15. Please hear the spirit of God. 19min

I know this is slightly different, but this week we will have two parts to the teaching. There are so many things going on with prophecies being fulfilled, that you need to be aware of what Scripture says about the times in which we are living. Please pray that I will be counted as a "watchmen on the wall" and bring to you the information that makes you understand what God is doing in these days. It is so exciting, to know that God's word is being totally and completely fulfilled just as he has penned through his prophets of old. 26min
Mark 11 Christmas Assurance of Fact

Description
Christmas is a great time to be totally assured in "the facts" that Jesus really did come to prove God's love and faithfulness. If you want the handouts that accompanied this sermon please just contact me. Although Jesus was born as a baby, He indeed was the promised Messiah. But many have a hard time accepting this reality. I am praying this message today will give you an insight as to the proofs that Jesus is exactly who He said He is, God in the flesh. It has been said "Anyone who rejects Christ as the son of God is rejecting a fact, proven perhaps more absolutely than any other fact in the world." It is a mathematical impossibility to discount even eight of the prophecies concerning Jesus birth and heritage. So where does one stand who refuses to accept the undeniable truth? 40min

Mark 11:27 - 12:12 On this the last day of 2017, the windchill is 17 below zero. Brrrrr. Have you ever questioned the authority of Jesus? The religious leaders of Jesus time did, and it's a fascinating story. It proves once again that God's eternal plans have not changed, will not change, and HE tells us in advance what His plans are. BUT, we need the Spirit of God in us & His precious Word to understand and know what He is doing. Please know that Jesus holds you tightly in His hands & with Him we can do everything He wants us to do. May you all have a very blessed new year in Christ Jesus our Lord. 38min

Description
Mark 12:13-34 What a beautiful study of Jesus being challenged 3 times by the leaders of the temple and the Jewish religious philosophies of His day. So plainly these leaders just did not get the Old Testament Scriptures or the Power of God. The Mosaic law & the temple had become something completely unacceptable to God. I hope you will get a new appreciation of how the New Testament complements the Old & and how God's call for a relationship with sinful man has never changed. One major point, the 10 Commandments are not "ten" but actually "one". It's all about our relationship with God and our fellow man. 48min

Mark 12:35-40 In today's teaching, we need to go back for just a bit to understand how Jesus set up the scribes and Pharisees in the temple to be admonished. Remembering that the Bible is one book not 2, we need to take a look at Psalms 110 & some historical background. We also need to remember to be careful who we are listening to for our spiritual input, as these temple guys weren't doing so hot. I had really planned on going much further today, but at 6 AM the Lord slowed me down a lot and said I needed to explain these things first before we got to the widow's mite & the Mount of Olives teaching. God is so good! I pray you are blessed by today's teaching. 39min

Today we are looking at every person's purpose in life & what it has to do with the Word of God & our eternity. We will examine our relationship with, & our trust in God. We have two examples here, the Scribes (religious leaders) & the destitute widow. We are going to talk about "religion" & our trust in God and his provision for our lives. Ask yourself, do I really understand the purpose of giving to the Church. Hopefully, by the time we're done you will have a greater appreciation for what the Scriptures say about where our hearts are. 44min

Mark 13:1-2 Because our "before the sermon" Bible Study took 1 hour&15 minutes, today's sermon will be short. We looked at two areas. Congress bill HR 4760, which was just introduced, would require "everyone" to receive an implanted biometric National ID Card (microchip). In just a few days it had over 70 cosponsors. This chip would be required to hold a job, have a bank account, & more. The second topic, was a discussion on God's detailed revelation of how the "Menorah" is related to the 66 books of our Bible. Absolutely fascinating. I have handouts on both of these topics should you wish to receive them email or text me. Here are two YouTube videos that will help explain the meaning of the Menorah. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggZfDaMUWhE & www.youtube.com/watch?v=LufsjQqYx-U In today's sermon you're going to get a little background and an introduction to Jesus teaching his disciples on the Mount of olives a few days before his crucifixion. We will cover more next time, & get to the topics of the rapture, the second coming, the current and future events Jesus said were coming. Don't miss it. 25min

Mark 13:14-23 In talking about the great tribulation, Jesus wants you to understand the clear differences between the pre-tribulation Rapture, and His second coming. I have given you two handouts, one that describes the contrast between the Rapture and the Second Coming with 16 clearly defined events (or situations) including Scripture verses for each of those events. The second handout includes references to the Olivet Discourse Prophecies on one side and 19 Scripture verses on how to Endure to the End on the other. (Those listening on the Internet may obtain the free handouts by contacting me). The whole point of today's sermon centers around Christians being ready for the rapture! Head knowledge is not enough - you must be a "true disciple" of Christ, which means you are a FATO - faithful, available, teachable, & obedient. 54min Sorry there was no sermon last Sunday there was a winter blizzard closure with lots of snow and -25 degree temperatures plus several people were sick.

Description
Mark 14:43-65 Today we will be looking at the betrayal and arrest of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. What a dramatic scene if we look at all four Gospels for the big picture of what happened that night. I can't imagine what it would've been like for the disciples. Wasn't the Messiah supposed to save the day? I'm sure it was a night of confusion, anxiety, fear, and disappointment. But that is because the disciples did not fully understand Jesus's purpose for coming. Jesus had told them many times what was going to happen but somehow they just didn't hear it. Isn't it amazing how the Old Testament prophets foretold what was happening. 45min

Today's message ties to last week's. Remember Jesus is arrested in the garden and is taken to the first of 6 trials. I didn't have time to expand on that last week but today we will. It is also interesting that Jesus so clearly said YES I AM DIETY! I am God. The Messiah you have been awaiting. The Christ. And you very well know it for I have caused the blind to see, the deaf to hear, demons to be cast out, and I have shown My power over nature, and have even generated food for the multitudes, and I have even proven My power over death! What more do you need to be convinced that I AM GOD IN THE FLESH? Did you not study the Prophets of old? Have I not fulfilled all the Scriptures? Well today I will help you who have ears to hear to understand at least in part the Trinity. 46min PS for those of you who what the hand outs - please contact me at 307-751-2250.

Mark 15:1-41 Today we look at Jesus's trial before Pilate, then Herod, and then Pilate again. And then what happens to Jesus before He is crucified and dies. There is so much detail given in the four Gospels that if we only combine them we get the real picture. Understanding what was actually happening in real time. I pray this history lesson will come alive for you. Jesus was declared innocent six times in six trials (three Jewish and three Roman) and yet was crucified. Crucifixion is one of the most hideous torturous deaths known to man. So come with me on this discovery of what is in your Bible and understand why Jesus had to suffer this terrible day. YET it was the greatest day in all of man's existence! For it was the day that God gave us away to conquer the punishment for sin in the death penalty. And provide us a way to live free forever. 55min

Mark 15:42-16:20 Today as we finish Gospel of Mark, it is a glorious story that needs the other Gospels to fill in a few details so that we can wholely appreciate the complete story of Christ's Resurrection. We will be going to several other scriptures to help you understand how this all fits together in a wonderful way. My prayer for you is that you will take some notes and do some Bible study on your own! The Resurrection is the entire essence of Christianity! You must be able to be clear in your thinking about this concept and all the evidences presented in the Word of God. It is especially important when you are trying to explain your faith to others who may not have come to know our Lord Jesus. Without the Resurrection, Christianity is nothing more than a false hope. I challenge you ... can you clearly and demonstrably explain why you believe that Jesus was the Messiah, the Christ, the One sent to save us? I pray that this lesson and the Scriptures presented will strengthen your faith, and your ability to share with others the hope that is within you. 49min
