Luke 14:1-24

Description
Luke 14:1-24 Now we know why God wanted the end of the Chapter taught before the 1st part. What a blessed day in the body of Christ today! Why was Jesus meeting again with those who hated His message of hope & love? What lessons from these parables! God's ways are so different from ours. Prv 25:6-7, Lk 18:4, Phil 2:3-11, 1John 2:18-23. As a believer in Jesus how do you interact with those who don't believe the same things you do? And what about learning of, and knowing "the truths of God", and being able to stand IN truth? 46min
Luke 15 Lost Sheep Coins & Sons

Description
In Luke 15 Jesus presents to us how He & The Holy Spirit & God all seek those who are lost or off tract. The bringing home of the lost (sinners, or saints that are astray) brings much joy into the kingdom of God. These 3 parables (only presented here in Luke) teach us much about how God works in one big lesson comprised of three parts. We must think deeper than just the words and see the parallels between the tax collectors, the pharisees, and ourselves. Point is Jesus doesn't give up & He will bring home all His people and there will be much rejoicing in heaven! 52min

Luke 16:19-31 Jesus had just got done addressing all our "stuff" (riches) & now He addresses the more important issue of what is going to happen to "me" when my life is ended. Interesting how the contrast is made between the have & the have nots. Several theological issues come out quite plainly in this short lesson. Description
Luke 19:28-40 The Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem as King of the Jews was truly a celebration. And this story is told in the wonderful setting of the Flanagan property at the base of the beautiful Big Horn Mountains. The weather & setting was perfect and pristine. And the feast to follow was heavenly - with perfectly cooked elk burgers. This festive occasion is told in Matt 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, & John 12:12-19 (read them all to get the composite picture). The point is that Jesus knew that the crowd's love for him would be short lived & he was facing crucifixion. I believe that the stones DID recognize His presence and celebrate Him as the Messiah. 33min

Luke 19:41-47 Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem & Jesus Cleans out the Temple. This is historical information BUT is there a close tie to America and us today? Going back to Jeremiah and what Israel experienced, we need to consider how God dealt with His chosen people. God's Words and Laws are never changing - what He says to us is consistent for all generations and nations. The message for repentance from our sin and wayward ways is consistent. May God's love and standards convict our hearts and may we turn back to God and His mercy as individuals and as a nation under the hand of a Holy God. 33min

Description
Luke 22:63 thru Luke 23:25. 2 weeks ago the Church had a group study on end times prophecy & had a Church Prayer time - thus no recording. And last week Pastor Nelson got to go on an Elk hunt (but returned home empty handed). SO NOW ... As we study what happened to Jesus before going to the cross we see Jesus has 6 separate trials (3 Jewish & 3 Roman) during which is declared innocent except for who HE IS. . It is interesting to note that 18 separate Jewish "mis-trial" events occur. If one studies this greatly detailed event in all 4 of the eye witness accounts (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John) it is mind blowing. The sermon time went so quickly there was hardly any time to cross reference the many interesting details of the Old & New Testaments. 43min

This week's study is about death not being the end but the beginning. When Jesus arose from the dead everything changed, including the way we measure time (BC vs AD). Isa 53 foretells 10 prophecies about the coming Christ (have your pen & paper ready). We must look at all the Gospels to get a full picture of Jesus victory over death, the grave, & sin. What is their assignment? What truths of the O.T. relate to the N.T.? So much is happening so quickly. What was Jesus' last command to these ordinary people called to do extraordinary things? How should they carry on in light of the fact that Jesus died, was buried for 3 days, was resurrected & appeared to them for 40 days, & was physically then taken up into heaven?
