Matthew 18e Forgivness & Christmas

Matthew 18:21-35

Description
Matthew 18:21-35 Today's lesson is going to be slightly different. Upon the suggestion of two people within our little church, they thought it might be a good idea if we had an interactive sermon this Sunday. So, what you're about to hear is some thoughts about FORGIVENESS related to Christmas and the upcoming year of 2022. In the text that we will be looking at you will hear various members of our little group commenting about their experiences and thoughts on forgiveness. Please have a paper and pen ready to not only write down some of the Scriptures we are going to refer to, but thoughts of your brothers and sisters. (also it would be a good idea to have your volume a little bit louder than normal so that you can hear the comments made) We can learn so much from each other when we share openly and honestly how the word of God has affected our lives and walk with Jesus. I think this lesson is very timely not only because of the Christmas season, but because of the days ahead that we must face in this evil time. 61min
Matthew 19a About Marriage and Divorce

Matthew 19:1-10

Description
Matthew 19:1-10 In our study of Matthew 19, the topic of marriage and divorce comes up with some guides for today. When Jesus was teaching the Pharisees He concentrated more on what marriage should be all about rather than the topic of divorce. When we go back to Genesis chapter 1 and God was creating man and woman there are some lessons here that we may miss if were not careful. God knew that because man's heart is desperately wicked, that sin would corrupt His plan for what marriage was originally to be. I pray there will be memorable hints and suggestions of how we need to understand and treat marriage and divorce. 48min

Description
Matthew 19:16-26 First of all I need to explain what happened the last week. We got cut off from our G Meet feed and with the mass confusion I decided not to post the beginning of the sermon from last week. I feel like you didn't miss much anyway. In today's lesson the rich young ruler learns some key points about what it takes to follow Jesus and be assured of eternal life. Salvation does not come from good deeds. As I have said so many times, religion sends people to hell BUT a true relationship with God through Jesus sends people to heaven. I must ask what possession(s) possesses you? Do you know that you know you are going to heaven? Have you put your stake in the ground? 48min

Description
Matthew 20:17-19 I apologize to the quality of today's recording. Not sure what went wrong. But today we had individual people give their thoughts to some key questions. I pray you will see the connection between Jesus' journey toward Jerusalem and our journey toward our forever heavenly home. It will take focus, determination, dedication, and assurance (FDDA). And don't forget you should also be a FATO ( faithful, available, teachable, and obedient ) Christian. As we stand on the brink of the outbreak of World War 3 you need to understand that God's plan is simply unfolding as prophecy has already declared it thousands of years ago. The main point is are you focusing on what God has said and promised through the prophets and Jesus; or do you have your eyes on the world. Please write down some of the key Scriptures and go back to meditate on them. 58min
Matthew 20c A Cup of Suffering & A Big Insight

Description
Matthew 20:20-28 Today's subject matter is not something everyone will want to hear. When we talk about pride and high self-esteem in people it is not always pleasant. But as the disciples went toward Jerusalem with Jesus, the topic came up of who was going to be the greatest in heaven. Jesus and The Word of God has quite a bit to say about these human faults. The disciples had not yet learn the lessons about servant hood, self-sacrifice, humility, persecution, and what leadership and the kingdom of God was about. The gift of salvation is priceless and free, but the way of discipleship isn't painless or easy. Suffering is the price of greatness, but it is the price required to follow Jesus Christ. 48min

Description
Matthew 20:29-34 This sermon will help explain why you need to speak to Jesus about your needs. When in Matthew nine Jesus talks about according to your faith let it be to you, we all need to shout out to our living loving God what we need. The character of Jesus is illustrated plainly that he cares for us, and that we can obtain mercy and grace in our time of need. In James four it says you ask and do not receive because you ask amiss, do you understand how the blind men actually receive their sight? 44min

Description
Matthew 21:1-11 Today, I want to start with some Old Testament Scriptures and then some from the gospel of Luke. Has your faith been tested? Have you gone the extra step to know why you believe what you do? When we look at Daniel chapter 9 verse 25 there is a very interesting prophecy. It states that Jesus would ride injured Jerusalem on April 6 32 A.D. on a donkey exactly hundred and 173,880 days after the Persian King Artaxerxes command to rebuild Jerusalem. How can prophecies in the Bible be so exact? Because God knows everything! Do you realize we are at the end of the days of mankind and soon judgment is coming? We need to believe the Bible and be humble as we see God's end times unfolding. 56min

Description
Matthew 21:23-32 I feel we need some more class involvement, therefore this is going to be an inductive study where I will be asking the listeners to comment. I know this is a little bit different, and some of the comments may not come through very clearly on the recording. But I like the idea of iron sharpening iron. AND there are some excellent comments during this teaching. Many people have asked Jesus or God by what authority do You do these things? I pray with the cross related Scriptures this question will be answered for you. Digging deeper into the Scriptures, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you, and applying personal insights is always a better way to draw closer to God. 66min

Description
Matthew 22:1-14 As we hit this third parable, maybe we start to understand why Jesus teaches in parables. Not everyone will understand, are there reasons for that? As we study the word of God we must actively use our minds and meditate on what is behind the words that we are reading. And then most importantly we must apply it to our lives. In this study we will refer to several verses in John's Revelation of Jesus Christ. And we will start to see that in the prophecies there are also promises. Have you ever thought what it means to have a robe of Christ's righteousness wrapped around you? Please remember that as we approach the wedding feast we must have worked through these things; forethought, repentance, forgiveness, gratitude, and commitment. 68min

You're going to learn about the Pharisees, the Herodians, and the Sadducees: what they believed in and stood for and how they plotted against Jesus trying to get him executed by Rome. I'm also going to give you some pointers on how to deal with people that come against you and what you believe. 58min

So many times we quickly read over something and don't grasp the deeper meaning behind the words. Jesus so wonderfully taught the Pharisee lawyer about what he should have been learning but missed. It's not about the 613 rules but about God's love for mankind and how we should be loving God at each other. Grab your pen and paper there are some things that you must write down. 64min

Now it is time for Jesus to challenge the Pharisees. Jesus cuts directly to the heart of the Christian doctrine with the Pharisees when HE asks quote "the Christ, whose son is he?" In this lesson you also learn some things about the Bible an individual interpretation of Scripture that you may not have thought about before. Matthew 23:1-12 In today's lesson we will be relating the rulers of Jesus time compared to the rulers of today. Man has not changed since the beginning of time. The sin nature that is within us can only be overcome through the blood of Jesus. Are people Really aware of what is going on in the world today? I don't think so! However, the prophecies in the Bible of Jesus return are true and will happen according to HIS plan. Therefore, linking together what God has told us about what is to come ( prophecy ) past events, present events, and future events; we need to know with all certainty that Jesus will return soon. Eight points will prove this fact. 55min

Matthew 24:1-8 In today's lesson we will start examining Jesus Olivet Discourse concerning the end times and the end of the age. There are about 101 prophecies concerning the last generation of man. It is written about in the Old Testament, and Jesus is direct words to his disciples in the New Testament, and extra-biblical Jewish writings. There are many things that we need to learn and hold onto during these trying times. The better informed that you are, and the closer to Jesus that you are, the more you will be comforted and at ease during these trying times. I've said it before and I'll say it again, faith untested is no faith at all. Today we will cover a number of Scriptures and topics that will require you to dig deeper in the Scriptures and your faith concerning the end times. Matthew 24:29-44 As we continued to discuss the ending age and what Jesus had to say about it, we need to be excited. Yes, there are some hard times coming, but we are privileged to see the fulfillment of so many prophecies. For those who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have studied their Bible, especially prophecies, it is a time to rejoice and not be confused or sad. Prayerfully, this lesson will draw a clear distinction between the time of the rapture, and the time of Christ second coming to earth. The parable of the fig tree is really important to understand. It is not a time for business as usual, it is time to be about the Lord's work and being faithful to your calling. 50min

Matthew 24:3-14 The disciples were very interested in how the end of the world would occur. They believed Jesus was coming back to make all things right, but what would happen first? In today's message, we will be concentrating not so much on the actual events that are happening, but rather what we need to be doing. In the deeper lessons of Luke 21:29-33 and two Thessalonians 2:3-12 and Revelation 21:1-7 and John 15:18-23 and Luke 12:49-53 we will find some lessons that few Christians are thinking about today. Can you find comfort and peace in what Jesus says is going to happen in the ending days? Are you staying prepared physically and spiritually in accordance with God's Word. The one thing that is the most important; we must not let our love of God and his truths turn cold. 58min

Description
Matthew 24;45-51 Opps, I should have classified this as the end of chapter 24. Oh well. Today were going to talk about the timing of the end of days and the faithful and wise servants. We all know that Christ is one day going to return to this earth to take his bride home in the rapture and then one day to come as the judge of the unfaithful. But how do we live knowing that that return is eminent. As we go over the Scriptures today I pray the Holy Spirit will challenge all of you in what it is like to be a faithful servant verses one who is lax in their duties that Christ has called you to do. Do you know what your ministry should be? Are you doing it? Do we actually believe that Jesus Christ could return at any moment and catch us in the middle of what we are currently doing? 42min

Matthew 25:1-13 Well good morning my dearly beloved. Today's lesson is going to be about being spiritually vigilant and being ready for the eminent return of Jesus Christ, and how to live as in overcomer until that time comes. We may not like to hear it, but there are only two categories of people in this world today. Those who are ready ( the faithful and obedient and those who are unprepared for what is to come ). .Jesus taught an excellent parable that goes deep and draws together things that we need to know today. Is your torch burning bright and do you have extra oil to be ready to enter into the marriage feast of the Lamb? This is a warning message that we must be ready for what is to come. 55min

Matthew 25:14-30 This week we are going to learn what it takes to receive from God "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord." After all is said and done in this life, isn't that really what we want to hear? This message focuses on using our talents and waiting time until Christ returns in the best way as demonstrated by Jesus parable about three servants. Please remember Jesus gives to each person exactly what that person can or should be able to handle and one day our accounts will be settled. The issue is not how much we have, but how well we use what we have. 46min

You will note that all nations, every individual, will stand before Jesus for judgment. In this metaphor (parable) Jesus uses 2 very different animals to illustrate the saved and the unsaved. But there is a deeper meaning if you really think about what he is saying and you might say the key verse is John 15:12 "love each other as I have loved you". I pray you will be able to see yourself and others as Jesus talks to us in practical terms about how different the sheep act from the goats. 47min

Matthew 26:26-34 & 1Cor 11:23-34 Today we are looking at two primary passages concerning the meaning behind the church sacrament of communion. In Matthew 26 the explanation is pretty short and sweet, but in 1Corinthians 11we get a more detailed explanation. And then of course we must add what is said about what Christ didfor us in Romans 3:21-28 and Hebrews 9:23-28. As we examine the meaning of the bread and the wine there are three theological words you may not be familiar with, but you will understand after this message. The important thing is that you understand the message behind this standard church practice as a believer in Jesus Christ. 61min Please don't get confused by my error ... where I said Matthew 26 and instead of 1 Corinthians 11:27. Where Scripture is talking about taking communion in an unworthy manner.
