Mark 15b He is Risen!
Pastor Nelson
Mark 15:42-16:20
Loading the player...
Description
Mark 15:42-16:20 Today as we finish Gospel of Mark, it is a glorious story that needs the other Gospels to fill in a few details so that we can wholely appreciate the complete story of Christ's Resurrection. We will be going to several other scriptures to help you understand how this all fits together in a wonderful way. My prayer for you is that you will take some notes and do some Bible study on your own! The Resurrection is the entire essence of Christianity! You must be able to be clear in your thinking about this concept and all the evidences presented in the Word of God. It is especially important when you are trying to explain your faith to others who may not have come to know our Lord Jesus. Without the Resurrection, Christianity is nothing more than a false hope. I challenge you ... can you clearly and demonstrably explain why you believe that Jesus was the Messiah, the Christ, the One sent to save us? I pray that this lesson and the Scriptures presented will strengthen your faith, and your ability to share with others the hope that is within you. 49min

Description
Mark 2:13-17 When you look at people do you ever think about who or what they could become if they would become a Christ follower? What would you, or have you already, given up to follow Jesus? Have you ever wondered - "There has got to be more to life than this?" Well when Levi's time came & Jesus said "Follow me!" he did exactly that (but that's another story!) I pray you will come to see what commitment to Jesus is through this study. Because others who come behind you may be dependent on "your decision" to follow Jesus. 37min
Mark 2c Jesus & His New Way of Doing Things

Mark 2:18 - 3:6

Description
Mark 2:18 - 3:6 Today we see the increasing conflict between the "Old Guard of the temple & the law" and The Messiah who is bringing a "new covenant of love, understanding & compassion". By fulfilling the law & not breaking it, Jesus once again clearly shows His compassion for people & the way it should be; in contrast to what Judaism had become . Don't be a slave to the law - be in a satisfying relationship with the God who loves you. 3 major events that prove Jesus is the Christ & that He is establishing a new way of doing things. 44min

Description
Mark 3:20-35 A subject rarely preached on, but essential in understanding how far can one go in rejecting the call of the Holy Spirit to believe in and follow Jesus the Christ. When Jesus says "this is eternal condemnation" we should be listening! But there is also comfort in this lesson in that if you have any concerns about going to heaven - you don't have to worry because the door to heaven is still open if one will only repent and believe. 41min

Mark 3:7-19 I've been missing everyone for the last 3 Weeks because of a total right knee replacement. They told me I'd be "down for AT LEAST a month" guess the Drs. know their trade. However I just HAD TO get back in the saddle! Sorry we didn't have anyone to fill in for me; we need to work on that. During my mandatory absence I've had so many thoughts about what it means to be dedicated to Christ and following Him. I pray that this message on discipleship will challenge your hearts & minds. In this lesson we will cover 1. Definition of a disciple 2. Marks of a disciple 3. The Cost of Discipleship 4. Rewards of Discipleship 5. Five Principles for Spiritual Growth and 6. a list of who God used - He can use you too! 45min

Mark 4:1-20

Description
Mark 4:1-20 As Jesus teaches the multitudes, some will hear & understand some will not. But bottom line, all humanity can be broken down into 4 categories. Scary huh! To which one of those categories do you belong? Is the Holy Spirit prompting you to make some changes? This is hard but honest teaching; is it time for some honest self reflection? I realize this isn't an easy thing to do but we are teaching this in love. God wants the very best for you - and this is not taught to shake anyone up, but It is teaching the whole Word of God as it comes from teaching book by book, verse by verse. Just remember God is good and He loves you more than you can comprehend! 44min

Description
Mark 4:21-41 Today in these 5 teachings of Jesus we learn some key life lessons. In a 3 point summary the key words are listen, learn, be obedient! We live in strange times but it is not so different than in Jesus day. Each of us need to examine our own personal "walk & talk" as a Christian. Jesus puts together some really important points in these few verses. Prayerfully this lesson will help you understand what we all need to do to help scatter the good seeds of the positive good news that Jesus was teaching. Remember - God is responsible for the growth, but our job is to help light the way for others. 41min

Mark 5:21-43 Today we see Jesus being totally accessible being completely unflappable and exhibiting mercy, sensitivity and compassion. He is the one who has conquered all the things that plague us, and yet He TOUCHES us one-on-one in our time of need. In the lessons learned from His healing the woman with the issue of blood and bringing the little girl back to life there are some cool lessons to be learned about faith and trusting the creator of the universe who knows us individually. 41min PS- if you are listening to this sermon online please consider supporting our ministry by mailing any offerings that God leads you to give to Calvary Chapel Sheridan PO Box 1063, Sheridan, WY 82801. Description
Mark 6:1-13 Today we once again seeing Jesus going after the lost people of His home town. It is difficult to battle "unbelief". Even after all Jesus miraculous healings and the casting out of demons and speaking with the authority of God, His own home town people didn't want to accept Him as the Messiah. Unbelief is a powerful force that blinds us to the truth, and robs us of hope. Even so, we see Jesus sending out the 12 to spread the good news. 40min If you enjoy this internet ministry please consider helping us to keep these messages on the net. Description
Mark 6:14-29 In this week's lesson we see how Godly correction can sometimes bring hatred and even murder. A guilty conscience can cause problems. As we learn about Herod's family and their actions there can be several lessons learned. It is still true today that just and holy people sometimes lose their lives due to the actions of the ungodly. BUT to those of us who have a personal relationship to God through Jesus Christ there is no fear of death. 39min

Description
Mark 6:35-44 Today we learned some lessons about God's creative miracle problem-solving. Jesus was full of compassion and taught them many things, but the crowd of possibly10,000 also needed to be fed. This account is in all four Gospels therefore it must be important. Did the people there really understand what was being taught to them about the kingdom of God and who Jesus is? The disciples didn't even get it! Jesus is the living bread of life. We have lots of handouts on the coming solar eclipse. If you're interested please let me know and consider helping to support this Internet ministry. 44 min

Description
Mark 6:45 - 7:3 Jesus proves Himself to be God in 3 miracles immediately after feeding the "10,000", but the disciples still don't get it although amazed. Just like today Jesus has a hard time teaching us when we have hard hearts. Remembering Old Testament scriptures should be enough but if we don't read our Bibles & know what it says we can't readily see the connection. The Word of God is vital but then we see the "Traditions of Men" taking over what we really need to know & understand. 46min
Mark 7a Traditions vs Hearts
Pastor Nelson
Mark 7:1-23
Loading the player...
Description
Mark 7:1-23 Today's lesson deals with our proper thinking of how we can please God & serve Him. Is it really about rituals & rules; or is it more personal than that? Are our traditions from and about God, or man? As Jesus teaches here it really is more about a heart issue than anything else. Using some Old Testament scriptures the Pharisees should have understood this, but then His disciples didn't get it either. After all these years mankind seems to be stuck in the same old rut. So we need to learn some major lessons on what God expects from us. 46min

Mark 7:24-37

Description
Mark 7:24-37 Today's lesson will be in two parts: first looking at Jesus healing at a distance and then His healing the deaf-mute. This concludes Mark chapter 7. Next we will talk about "The Bible", and the importance of regularly reading God's Word for yourself! There is a general dryness among Christian believers reading, on a daily basis, God's Word. I don't want to "beat on the sheep" because I know some of you are in the Word daily, however, so much can be gained from the consistent reading of God's Word we need to at least address this subject briefly. Do you commune with God daily by reading and meditating on His Word? Think about this, the Creator of the universe wishes to speak to YOU personally through "His Recorded Words"!! - so are we taking time to listen to Him? It's difficult I know, but don't we owe Him at least some time to speak to us? There are 5 main themes God has been sharing with us for at least 4000 years - will you pick up on these, study them out, & make them your own? 48min

Description
Mark 8:1-15 Today Jesus has to show the Disciples once again Who He Is by the feeding of the 4 thousand. They didn't get it the first time because of their hard hearts. It is amazing how slow we all are in comprehending the Deity of Jesus. I'm so glad when I don't "get it" that God is patient with me! We also hit on the fact that the miracles and wonders of Jesus don't cause a non-believer to have a "life saving epiphany" but they do help the "believer's" faith. 40min

Description
Mark 8:22-33 Today as we see how Jesus healed the blind man at Bethsaida we can make some parallels with ourselves. How clear is our vision as to who Jesus really is & what He can do? The old testament told us about the coming "Savior, Anointed One, Healer, Judge, & THE New Covenant"; so why was The "Son of Man" so hard to recognize? And the BIG QUESTION: Who do YOU say that this "Jesus the Christ is?" And why is this is important?? What does the OT and Jesus in the NT say about himself? We need to see more clearly! 44min

Description
Mark 8:31 - Mark 9:13 You have to love the Apostle Peter. Here were going to see him blow it twice. Repeating slightly, verses 31 through 33 reveal why it was so important for Jesus to get to Jerusalem. But then comes a big lesson, we need to understand what it means to pick up our cross daily. Then we will look at the Transfiguration of Jesus and why it was so significant. People today still have a hard time understanding exactly who Jesus is. Don't be too hard on the disciples for not understanding, frequently we don't understand totally what Jesus did and meant too. We all are a lot like Peter. 44min

Description
Mark 9:14-29 Can a believer have doubts - absolutely! Does God ever get frustrated with us? Is there anything we can do to help our faith? Why is it important to ask God for help? Unbelief has no power. Our power failure is directly linked with our prayer failure. Lots of different Bible verses today! Some big lessons in Jesus healing the deaf-mute boy and casting out the evil spirit. We fail for exactly the same reasons the disciples failed in this simple task. We need to recognize the power of God is not limited by our circumstances. We need to pray like the boys father, "Lord I believe; help my unbelief!" 47min

Description
Mark 9:30-50 We start with a scripture from Jeremiah 23 & a warning to those who speak in the name of the Lord. It will make sense as we go on. In Mark 9 Jesus is hitting 3 main points (a) we must be like children in our relationship with Him (b) there are strong words concerning our relationship with other believers & the teaching of new or immature believers (c) we need to examine ourselves for the sins that need to be cut out of our lives. God as the perfect loving father wants a simple relationship with us - He loves us & provides for us. He simply wants us to be obedient children. 46min

Under each of these topics multiple scriptures will be given to help you understand what God's will is for your life and growth. It wouldn't hurt to have pencil and paper ready. 55min

Palm Sunday most Christians understand about Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a unbroken young donkey .... but have you heard about Pilate's entrance into Jerusalem that same day? Oh, what lessons we have to learn today! And how it ties into Jesus healing Peter's mother-in-law and all people that came to the house that day. I pray you will enjoy this teaching and apply it to what is going on in the world today. We all have two choices, to follow the way of the world's might and power, or to follow the way of the humble Messiah. 51min

Matt 18:1-14 First allow me to explain that I didn't post a sermon last week because I was returning from Critical Incident Stress Management Training. As one who cares for people in Crisis, the training was invaluable; but it also made me think about where people turn in hard times, what do they lean on & who do they depend on when "it" is crunch time? Seeing as we are all like children and learn to trust God over time & obey God or not. What are the lessons here that Jesus was trying to teach His Disciples? We all must learn to trust God and learn total dependence; & that is a hard thing to do. 41min

I'm sure you understand that salvation cannot be earned and it is not deserved. What does it really mean to be a Christ follower? There are sacrifices and rewards that you may have not thought about. So, what does this parable about the landowner hiring help for his vineyard really tell us about the nature of God? And how does it apply to us today? Let me say this, Jesus has turned the world's values upside down. 54min

Being motivated by the nearness of Christ's return we must understand the times in which we live so we can free others from the hardships of this life; they really have no hope for the future. 6 signs of the end of days are given by Jesus in Matthew 24. And 2 characteristics of the ending age are given by the Apostle Paul. Are YOU ready should this world that we know be ended in the next few years? Have you considered what it would be like to face "the Lord of Lords" suddenly and have no more chances to do what the Lord wanted you to accomplish? 46min

Matt 27:62 - Matt 28:20 EASTER SUNDAY MESSAGE Do you want to know the really short version of the Easter story? Turn to 1 Corinthians 15:3-14. That is the good news of how Christianity started by Christ's resurrection from the grave. As we go into recorded history today you will hear how man can't stop the work of God and his plan for mankind. We must learn to surrender in trust what Jesus has done for us and remember that in a moment everything can change. Over and over again the Word of God tells us do NOT be afraid! Death is not the end, it is the beginning for those who have put their faith in what Jesus Christ did on the cross. With so many witnesses to Jesus resurrection we need to remember that he is with us always, even to the end of the age. 48min

Matthew 5:21-32 As you may have already discovered there was no sermon posted last Sunday because I was in the hospital. I thank you for your prayers and concerns, but all things are in God's hands and in his timing. I am so happy to be able to continue on in our study of Matthew chapter 5. There are some really important lessons today that Jesus personally spoke to in the time of the apostles but also is speaking to our hearts today. Anger, lust, and divorce is out of control. We have simply forgotten and refused to obey the commands of God that were laid down so many years ago. I have so much more to say about these topics but as time restrains, I pray the Holy Spirit will use what is said here to prompt your spirit to hear the personal message that God is speaking to you today. I love you all so much, but we are drying so close to the time of the rapture there is little time to not seek God's truth, and start living the way demands that we live as followers of Christ. Love your neighbor as yourself, seek the best for others, learn to forget and trust God for His direction in your life. 50min
